    • RE: BL Touch issues

Oh man I figured it out. So I guess I applied a little too much heat while doing my heat shrinking on wires and it warped one of my dupont connectors. Replaced it and everything is work as it should.

Thanks so much for the help guys. Sorry it turned out to be something so stupid!

    • RE: Wiring Duex

So the Duex didn't come with any additional twin ferrules, just single wire ones. The Duet Wifi came with two of them, but I already used them when I originally set up the duet. I tried taking them off and seeing if I could salvage them, but it's not going to work.

I ordered a ferrule kit the other day and it should be here today or tomorrow. It's only single wire ferrules though. So I have two questions.

      A) Could I use a single wire ferrule and then attach a piggy back connector and have two wires going into it?

      or

      B) Could I use a larger gauge ferrule, say 10 or 12, and then a little electrical tape and heat shrink tubing?

It began as a D-Bot, but there's so many changes it's hard to call it a D-Bot at this point.

The problem seems to come and go. I just ordered a bunch of wire and am going to dive into the arduous task of re-doing all the wiring from scratch and cleaning everything up. If the problem persists I'll get some more details and try to dive further in.

My arrangement is nothing like that. I'll try to grab a picture this afternoon, but the bed is almost 2 feet above the electronics board.

I can understand interference, but what kind of distances are we talking in order to avoid said interference? I'll inevitably have to extend a ton of wires move it out from underneath so I'd like to get it right the first time.

    • RE: Can't stay connected after adding heated bed?

The box is underneath the heated bed, but it's a fairly large printer (~450mm on the z axis) so I can't imagine it's shielding it. Is there something specific in the heated bed that would cause this?

It resets just fine. The heated bed is run off main power so if I understand correctly it doesn't use the limited power from the power supply.

    • Can't stay connected after adding heated bed?

I installed my heated bed this weekend and everything works as it should, but now I just keep getting chain disconnected from the web browser. I googled the error and was seeing suggestions of upgrading the firmware, but I think I'm already upgraded?

Firmware Name: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet
Firmware Electronics: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later + DueX2
      Firmware Version: 1.21 (2018-03-21)
      WiFi Server Version: 1.21RC4(08b3)
      Web Interface Version: 1.21-RC4

      The error in question:

"A communication error was reported, so the current session has been terminated."

      Any ideas?

    • Always on fan from Duex?

So I didnt even think about this before I bought this 80mm 12v Noctua fan, but how would I go about setting a fan on one of the VFan inputs on the Duex to always on? My duet runs on 24v so I need to use the step down portion of the Duex to power it.

    • RE: Guide for automatic bed leveling?

@dc42 I had used a different guide that more or less said the same thing. I'll try going through it again tonight as I was abit rushed when doing it. Was just wondering if there was anything more in depth.

    • Guide for automatic bed leveling?

I got my Duex set up and have each of the z stepper motors on their own driver. I tried following a guide included in the one of the BL Touch guides, but there wasn't much detail and I was running into some issues (It seemed like it wasn't probing at the coordinates I entered -- the last probe was trying toi go past the bed and crashed into the end of the X-rail) so wanted a more in dpeth guide. Any tips would be appreciated!

    • RE: Wiring Duex

Okay awesome I've got plenty of piggy back connectors. Ferrule kit will be here tomorrow and I'll wire it up. Thanks again, man -- you're always so helpful.
