@phaedrux I tried using the SAM-BA software, but the site with the download shows the the product is no longer available. Could you please post a link for the download?
I am sure that he problem is my inability to load the Duet USB connection driver. I was able to get it install late last night, but when I turned the computer on this morning, the port had disappeared. I tried several methods to reinstall the driver without success. I'm a retired engineer from Intel and this one has me stumped. I'm looking a Big Tree controller boards...

RE: Duet 2 WIFI Firmware install using SD card only
@phaedrux Thanks for response. As I said above, Bossa opens with a blank drop down menu when attached to any Duet board.. I don't have the option of choosing anything from the blank drop down menu. I also said I used the command line Boooac and showed the command line I used.
Did I answer your questions?

RE: OK, I give up!
@jumpedwithbothfeet The computer does not recognize a USB cable attached to a Duet board. Otherwise, the USB works great. That's why I think its the Duet driver not being loaded.

RE: OK, I give up!
@jumpedwithbothfeet Thanks for the recommendation. That was what started it all. I went through the configuration tool and added it to the provided sim card. I put the card into the board and tried to open it. No way to connect through the USB. I tried that several times, and I listed all the other things I tried.
Thanks,

OK, I give up!
I generated a post on this forum: "How to load firmware using only a SD card" because I cannot connect to my Duet boards. I have done the following:
- Used four different boards; one brand new Duet 2 WIFI (just received), two older Duet 2 WIFI that bricked as a result of attempted firmware updates, one Duet 3 mini 5+ (never installed)
- Three different computers; a Lenovo laptop (windows 10), A self-built gaming computer (Windows 11, Intel 12th gen processor, 64 Gb RAM, new socket lga 1700 motherboard), an older windows 10 Asus gaming laptop (windows 10).
- At least a dozen USB cables.
- Unsuccessfully attempting to install Duet drivers, at least a dozen times on all computers without any "successfully installed" message. None of my computers will successfully install these drivers.
- Attempted to connect to the original Ender 5 plus Marlin board. Successfully connected, new com port automatically created without problems.
Both of the Duet 2 WIFI boards previously controlled Ender 3 printers until I attempted to upgrade the firmware. The Ender 5 plus works when I use the original Ender Marlin board.
I think that because of recent OS updates, the drivers will not load.
Any further suggestions?

Nothing changes when I press the "refresh" button.

RE: Duet 2 WIFI Firmware install using SD card only
Here's the response from command prompt.. C:\Users\shesk>"C:\Program Files (x86)\BOSSA\bossac.exe" -p=Com3
No device found on =Com3. I am using version 1.9.1. When I attempt to add screenshot of device manager showing bossa port = Com3, I get a forbidden message when I submit reply. -
RE: Duet 2 WIFI Firmware install using SD card only
The Bossa port that device manager reports is Com3. Here is the command line that I used without success... "C:\Program Files (x86)\BOSSA\bossac.exe" -p=Com3
I can't do anything after that.

RE: Duet 2 WIFI Firmware install using SD card only
All LEDs are correctly lit. I manually erased and reset the board. When I attempt to use Bossa (a Bossa port appears in the device manager and is working in "properties", the Bossa program cannot find a port and there is no way to manually add a port.

Duet 2 WIFI Firmware install using SD card only
I attempted to update the firmware to version 3.4 using the Duet Web Control. The installation uploaded the files and then attempted to install them. The process kept running for twelve hours without success. The was no "progress bar" while this was running.
When I attempted to retry, I could not connect to the Duet board using the USB. No ports appeared in the device manager. I tried different cables and USB slots. I even tried a different computer with WIN 10. I tried both YAT and BOSSA with no success.
Nothing would connect me to the board. Is it possible to do a clean install of the firmware using only a SD card?
Thanks,Jerry
