@joergs5 There is a #define SUPPORT_LINEAR_DELTA in the code so I think it's already possible . I believe the discussion is about which kinematics should be enabled by default in the provided binaries.

RE: Magnetic Filament Monitor skips values
@christophe There is a bugfix in the 3.4 release candidate that fixes possible race conditions and that short extruder moves are sometimes missed by filament sensors. If possible you could try it out and see if it solves your problems

RE: delta mesh bed leveling
I had the same problem on my delta as well, and the cause was two slightly loose nuts on one of the mag ball holders which unscrewed themselves after a few prints. I recently rebuilt my printer, and opted for nylock nuts for all screws on all moving parts which has higher friction and harder to unscrew themselves. I can highly recommend it

RE: Combined Smart Effector and tool board for delta printers
I would be interested in getting one. Currently, I'm using this mod thingiverse to be able to mount an orbiter on top but a can enabled smart effector would cut down on a lot of cabling and be more reliable

RE: Delta bed leveling issues
@rndmnmbr I had the exact same issue on my delta with the smart effector, which for me the cause was backlash in the mechanics. I fixed it by changing all screw-nuts holding the arms and effector to nyloc to avoid them being able to unscrew themselves. I'm not sure how the Rostock effector and arms are attached but it might be something worth trying out

RE: Orbiter 2 extruder mounting for Smart effector with Magball arms
@dc42 I tried to keep the spacing between the balls at the corners. I think there was a formula somewhere of the stability of the effector where you wanted to keep that spacing short but I cant recall where I saw it
@Adrian52 Looks good! I like the idea of having a straight and much shorter filament path, compared to my adapter where the filament is in a slight s-shape Haven't gotten around to compare it yet though

RE: Orbiter 2 extruder mounting for Smart effector with Magball arms
@dc42 I've made a quick and dirty model approximating how big the smart effector would need to be for me to be able to mount an Orbiter directly on-top of where the bolt is. With my specs it would need to be a distance of around 71.3 mm between the ball studs. I've angled the extruder by 15 degrees to make it take slightly less space in between the arms.
The cones visualize the maximum reach of the arms for my delta with a 350mm bed and 440mm arms.
Its probably possible to make it an even tighter fit by tweaking the parameters but I thought it was good enough to continue the discussion ¯\(ツ)/¯

RE: smarteffector v4
@dc42 A slightly larger effector would be nice as well, to be able to mount an orbiter extruder or bondtech lgx lite for direct extruder capabilities

RE: What would you build if you were starting again now?
@dc42 said in What would you build if you were starting again now?:
I would build my large delta all over again. In its present incarnation it's been almost hassle-free, which I can't say for any of my other printers. But I am looking forward to fitting it with a larger and CAN-connected Smart Effector carrying an Orbiter extruder.
Is something like this in development? Sounds interesting.

RE: Wavy ridges in Mesh bed leveling on delta kossel xl
I had the same problem, and for me it was loose nuts on the effector/carriages.

RE: G-code Syntax Highlighting in Text Edit Windows
Ah, I interperated your question as you were looking for a replacement for Atom in ms windows. Some highlighting in the web editor would be a nice feature.
