    • RE: Can Duet boards be used without an internet connection?

@Danal Yes I saw people doing that. It looked really useful. This does seem the best platform for 3D printing.

@Phaedrux Thanks for that link, I'll be reading that over the next few days. I've not began to learn any actual gcode yet as I'm still waiting for delivery of my printer. But it seems allot easier to get simple commands in gcode, than using C++ in Marlin.

Ok I understand, thanks. It's this user friendly "simplicity" that appeals to me as programming is not my strong point.

    • Can Duet boards be used without an internet connection?

Hi, I'm just researching whether a Duet board is the right solution for me and I see they use the browser based Duet Web Control interface to configure and compile settings for the board. These settings are then downloaded as a .zip file and sent to the printer - if I've understood it correctly.

Is it possible to do this without an internet connection and just a local network, or is a net connection required to use these boards?

Sorry if that's a stupid question I just want to make sure any future lack of internet wont render my printer inoperable.

      Thanks,
      Tom
