@BrokenThistleForge I understand you have been in touch by email, and offered a replacement under warranty. While you wait for the replacement, it would be good to try and work out how this happened.
Please could you describe exactly what you did in Pronterface? You said you tried to upload the firmware. How? Is there a menu option? Which version of Pronterface are you running? On Windows? It was working before you did this? Were you following a guide to do this?
When you say the board is not recognised, is that after you have pressed the Reset button twice quickly, to put the board into USB mass storage mode? Or does that part work, and it is after that that it is not recognised? If you could be specific, and describe what happens at each step, it would be helpful.
If you think the USB port is damaged, please take a close up picture of the back of it, where it is soldered to the PCB, and post it here. Though I would find it odd that it stopped working after communicating with the board, rather than after a physical or electrical problem.
