Upgrading a Dowell, is easier then building a new printer, as you have all basically... preassembled. I assume that by now you figured how though. Still, if you are not much enough in the rabbit hole, and by rabbit I mean hardware and coding too, it is pretty overhelming.
My dowell, wich WAS a DH8, is working now again, better than previously, but you may want to start a new topic for it, if did not until now, as it is not a simple task.

Other than stepper drivers, and power supply (and yes, power button, hehe), I removed all electronics on it, and restarted with some DUET boards. They did the job, even if the interface is ... like 90s. I would use some Klipper boards (BTT and stuff), but for this project... nah... to much work.

Good luck, and if you are starting some thread, you are welcome to ask. If you are not very skilled in hardware and coding, just ... use it as it is, otherwise you may fail. Sorry for being blunt, but it is the truth, unless you will hire somebody skillful enough...
