@codymnelson could it be that the router's ethernet ports are set to not auto cross over when required? if you can configure the router in anyway have a look if there is a setting for MDI-MDIX or similar. Most modern (last 20 years!) routers and switches should have that option. If it is this issue, and if they cant be set to auto, then another possibility would be to use a cross over ethernet cable.
