    • RE: Inductive sensor

      @dc42:

An NPN-output sensor can be connected to the E0 endstop input, E1 endstop input, Z endstop input (if it is free) or Z probe connector. You choose the P parameter in the M558 command to tell it which one.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I understand now. Lol

      @npm1:

thks for the heads up on the pictures,

@kozlow: anything can be used as an endstop as long as the M558 and G31 commands are defined correctly

Right, i realize that you can use a probe as an endstop, that's how mine is set up.
What i didn't know was if it worked the same when the probe was hooked up to the probe pins. Because when i set up my NPN sensor the wiki said to use the E0 stop pin.
The wiki must be out dated. That must be for previous hardware that didn't have probe pins.

      @dc42:

Yes that diagram looks right. Use probe type P5 in the M558 command.

Hey dc42, just so i understand, if you use the probe connector can you still use the probe as an endstop?
Is there any difference besides for the firmware settings between using the Z probe pins vs the E0 stop pin?

    • RE: Inductive sensor

      Hey npm1

I just hooked a probe similar to this yesterday.
dc42 helped me out with a problem that I was having.
You should have a read of that thread.
      https://www.duet3d.com/forum/thread.php?id=4490.

Are you planning on using the probe as an end stop too?
Because I hooked mine up using E0 endstop pins, I'm not sure that it will work as
an endstop if you use the probe pins.

      Hope this helps

    • Z Probe Help

      Hi

The Z probe that I have doesn't have the identification sticker on it, but I believe that it is an SN04-N ( NPN NO ),
but It could be an SN04-N2 ( NPN NC).
I believe it to be normally open because if I hook it up as a normal endstop switch it will work as a open switch.

The problem is when I hook it up as per WIKI instructions, Blue wire to ground, Brown wire to 5v, Black wire to cathode end of a
Bat85 Schottky diode, anode end to E0 stop pin.
The probe when triggered reads 0 on the Duet Web Control, and reads 1000 when untriggered.
That makes it seem like a normally closed switch. The wiki doesn't address normally closed probes, that I seen.
If I change the M574 E0 S0 to S1, were I'm guessing that the S1 = active high endstops, nothing changes.

      So…What am I doing wrong?

      Here is my firmware settings

      ; Endstops
      M574 X1 Y1 S1 ; Set active high endstops
      M574 Z1 S2 ; Set endstops controlled by probe
      M574 E0 S0 (S1)
      M558 P4 H5 F360 T6000 ; Set Z probe type to modulated and the dive height + speeds
      G31 P500 X0 Y0 Z4 ; Set Z probe trigger value, offset and trigger height
      M557 X50:271 Y35:271 S20 ; Define mesh grid

Thanks for any and all help.

    • RE: Which Electromechanical relay

      Thank you Simon!
That helped tremendously! Using the right words in a search changes everything.
When I was searching for " Electromechanical relay " I was only coming up with the relays by themselves,
but when you search for " 5v power relay module " you get a total different results .

      Thanks again

    • Which Electromechanical relay

      Hi

I want to use an Electromechanical relay to switch the current on and off going to the 24v power supply using the PS_ON connecter on the Duet Ethernet.
The problem is that I'm a Machinist and not an Electrician and I don't know which relay to use!
There are so many different ones out there.
Maybe someone could recommend a good relay to use.

      Thanks
      Steve

    • RE: Brand new board not reading SD card

Glad you figured it out TimVukman.
I wasn't trying to hijack you thread, I thought maybe our problems were related.
      I guess not.

I figured out my problem as well, maybe this will help someone else.

When I formatted to Fat32, there was 16MB of space being left unallocated. That would screw the Duet up and wouldn't read the SD card correctly. It could see it mounted in slot zero, but that is it.

What I did to fix the SD card was run DiskPart, select and clean that drive, then create a primary partition.
Then formatted to Fat32 and was good to go.

    • RE: Brand new board not reading SD card

I thought you were on to something there, as the new sd card was formatted as exfat. So i formatted to fat32, copied files from original sd card over and pasted to new card and… no dice. Still won't work. M21 shows sd card in slot 0, with 59GBs
