Out of curiosity could I just skip redoing the stop sensors and just do sensorless homing? Not sure if you need end stop sensors at all if you enable that, and I believe this board supports that.
Yes you could do that, but you would need to spend time finding suitable motor current and stall sensitivity settings. See the wiki page on stall detection.
