@Phaedrux said in U3 component ruptured, Was this me or a defect?:

do you mean by Creality wiring? Is it the

Yes, it is a kit that says Creality on the box, but the BLtouch has a qr code on it that when scanned directs to a documented DoB and cert as ginuine Antclabs. I mention the creality wiring kit because the brown wire is instead Blue on this kit.

I should also mention that this happened probably 10 minutes after the wiring, It wasn't immediate. I noticed in the other forum post that I linked, he mentioned the LEDs change when the bltouch was wired in. I can't say that I noticed any change. I also did not see any light on the bltouch either. I do know that the bltouch and the wiring for it worked previously on the old creality board that I had. I was on WebControl getting ready to edit the config.g, and while reading over the dozuki wiring guide, it went out.

Re: U3 Buck ruptured? Admin please advise~

I have had this board for about a week from Filastruder. I'll start by saying it worked great, and is a great and very quality piece of design work. I had about 20 hours of print time before I installed my BLtouch on this new board. The touch worked great on my previous creality board, but maybe I did something wrong?

I looked over the wiring a few times, and maybe I missed something. I have the creality wiring, and an Antclabs BLtouch.

Wired things up as in this image below (Sorry for the non-professional drawing)

I wired up the BLtouch and was in the Connecting a Z probe guide just after wiring it up when I heard it pop, and lost the access point connection to the board.

The blue light remained lit as in this photo: (Still this way when on 24v power supply)

This is the board on USB, all of these LED's blick, the Diag LED having a slightly different time.

Here is my Device Manager screen before connecting the board:

Here is after conneccting via USB. Windows disables the usb driver for whichever set of ports I connect to.

If I have wired something incorrectly, I'd love to be corrected on that. I did not see a fault in the wiring myself, and am now afraid to connect a touch probe to a replacement panel.

      Thanks for any help!
