    • RE: Nimble owners, please help !!

FInnaly solved this by putting differential oil 15k usedin RC Cars recommended by the Zesty guys. I have no idea why it works but my guess it takes out the slop in the gearing system as the oil very thick.

I'm also having this issue but with less severity.
Do you have an example print under light at an angle?

It seems like the spacing of the ripple is uniform. Could it be that it represents the instant a new gear teeth enters the worm gear?

    • Nimble owners, please help !!

To those of you who got your nimble with smart effector do you get surface artifacts?

This is my baseline, titan flying extruder with 20mm pancake motor, silicon tubing to hold the extruder.
Notice there are no print artifacts and the surface is relatively smooth.

This is after installing nimble, with the duet wifi settings attached as well

Then I remove everything and reinstalled the nimble and loosen the screw as directed by zesty site.
      The artifacts became more pronounced.

I am going to reassemble my flying extruder to confirm that my hotend is not the issue this weekend but before that anyone has tried out something that works ? rather than bandaid solutions?

    • RE: 40mm cooling fan duct for Smart Effector - thoughts?

      @RGN01:

Now fully loaded and waiting for me to convert the fan supply on the Duet to 12V

I must only still add the tusks to the fan - a 6mm aluminium tube either side should be easily achievable, I think.

Should be interesting to test it.

I'm using a 40mm fan duct adapter , and I noticed that the nimble mount nut below is blocking it from being mounted properly. How are you mounting the nimble?, are you using a nut? Do you have the STL for this ?

    • What causes inconsistent extrusion

      https://imgur.com/a/8Ov2W

If you look at the surface , you would notice inconsistent extrusion rate even on the same layer. I can't tune it because it is a moving target.

      What causes this?

      Titan clone flying extruder
e3dv6 original , 4mm bore heatbreak, capricorn tubing all the way to the end, 245C, esun abs+ (e3dv6 original with 4mm bore ali express, converted to "lite" indirectly.

    • RE: 40mm fan for Smart effector

Traditionally the fan mounts on the e3d aluminium heatsink.
Is there any drawback if it was designed in a way that is integrated with the part cooling fan mount which relies on the ball stud screw, instead of snapping the mount onto the aluminium heatsink? I can leave a 1mm gap between the fan mount and aluminium fins to prevent the fan mount from interfering with the sensor but I'm trying to think if there is any drawbacks doing this.

    • 40mm fan for Smart effector

Has anyone used any 40mm fan(noctua?) for the e3d v6 with smart effector? I thought of just downloading some of the adapters in thingiverse but I do not know there is enough clearance for it.
The supplied fan is too noisy and imparts too much vibration. I could practically feel the vibration through the frame.
