2.03 + PanelDue 7i
-
Upgraded Duet 2 Ethernet to firmware 2.0.3 and suddenly, the connected PanelDue 7i remains blank. Was working with 2.02 before. Didn't downgrade yet, as I'm still building the printer and have PC closeby with access to the webinterface.
-
The panel has its own firmware and will display its interface independent of the Duet, so if the panel is blank that would suggest a problem with the firmware on the panel, an issue with the power supply to the panel or possibly damage to the panel i think which is really strange as you say it worked before the update.
Maybe some else can chime in with more insight.

If you disconnect the panel from the Duet and connect it to a PC via usb, does it power up?
-
Phaedrux, I am working on putting a Duet 2 and a Panel 7 together. White screen when connected to Duet works normal when connected via USB. Any suggestions?
-
@kthoma85 how have you got it connected?
-
The ribbon cable that is connected to the Panel Due.
-
Can you test with the 4 pin connector instead?
-
What is the 4 pin connector? Do I need to make one?
-
So that is what the other cable that came with the panel is for? I can try it later.
-
The 4 pin connector is the preferred method of connection. It's far more robust and less prone to connectivity issues. The cable length can be much greater as well.
-
You will still need the ribbon cable if you are using the SD card slot on the paneldue, but you only need the 4-wire otherwise.
You can also plug both in and it should work fine.
-
Check that you have the ribbon cable connected to the right port on the Duet, which is CONN_SD, not CONN_LCD despite the name.
-
Shouldn't the firmware on the PanelDue show the interface and not a white screen as long as it has sufficient power regardless of communication with the Duet? -
-
I connected the 4wire connector and it is working fine. Now do I connect the ribbon cable to the blue circle or the orange circle?
-
Unless you need to use the SD card in the PanelDue, i would not.
As @Phaedrux mentioned, you can have a longer cable with the 4 pin, the ribbon cable has a length limit.
I upload everything from a computer via a network so no need for the PanelDue SD. -

The blue one marked "External SD Card" will also power the PanelDue.
-
Thank you everybody. I am good to go now.

Yes, if the ribbon cable is sound and connected to the correct connector on the Duet.
