    Hi guys,

just want to share this thing for the ones that don't know it yet:

    A belt friction extruder:
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1247952

We are using it now on many printers and with normal PLA 1.75mm getting printspeeds over 120mm/s on the delta's with volcano and 1.0mm nozzle.
With PRO1 from inofill we get 150mm/s easy without loosing quality.

We are also using spools of 20kg which he can unroll without any support motor. Really a strong very strong way of extrusion.

Also you won't have any stipped filament anymore… only once in a while you need to change a belt.
The belts and 50T pulley are available from Motedis. We made some small changes in the original files. If you want those drop me a message.

I am curious what you guys think of this cold-end extruder. It's not my design so the credits would be for andreasL.

Bigger and bigger… sky is the limit.

that looks like it's going to cause a lot of bend stress on the filament, I reckon some filaments would snap with that much bend, especially older filaments

        Hello
I have tried the BONDTECH some months ago and love it since.
This is more expensive but it works very well.

I liked the look of the vaeder v-struder http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?1,610779 but it was much hyped and then never really materialised but the idea is sound why pull filament through with tiny sharp teeth when a long section of belt is more effective. That being said I can't fault the titan, rock solid, so good I've stopped looking for a better product. Biggest spool I use is only 2.3kgs though.

@DjDemonD The Nimble is half the weight of a Titan 🙂

But that belt drive system features a fairly sharp (for filament) bend, perhaps it would work with a much straighter path and longer belts to grip the filament. The idea is sound perhaps the implementation can be improved.

Yes I was thinking about a straight belt like approach just the other day, but I was thinking single sided belt not both sides.
