      Hi,
I'm busy reviving my old Tripodmaker Delta Printer (300x400) with a DuetWifi Board. The motor and height settings (mm/step, home-height, z-max-travel) seem to be right now. The auto delta calibration to works without error messages now.

I just ran the Mesh Grid Compensation and got these strange results (see attached image). Any idea what could be happening here?

      • Using a temporary setup for my Duet IR probe (glued, no shorts).
      • Standard speed settings from configtool.reprapfirmware.org
      • mesh probing looks normal, no hiccups visible
      • brown paper tape as bed cover

      Thanks,
      Vincent strange bed height map.png

Mmh, it says one might as well use the reprap-cfg-tool, so I did. It seems to be the same questions that need to be answered in the process.
As I said, the auto calibration seems flawless, only I haven't figure out how to verify that. Tried printing a sample, but it bumped into the bed, which might have been because I had a hominG28 in the start code. Trying with no homing now...

Naa, even after calibrating it, the zero-point in the z-coordinate is about 6mm above the bed. Something is still very wrong somewhere.

Could there be movement/flex in the probe's position going on? Do you get the same heightmap image every time you probe?

Ok so I just did the mesh grid compensation without my fancy LED-light strips and now the results looked much better. Also, the print startet fine, laying a good first layer. Interesting, huh...

@tripodDuet That is really interesting. I wonder how many of the issues seen by users of the IR Probe actually might be running into something similar.

What kind of LEDs are you using?

@tekkydave , no, there is no movement in the probe.

@Phaedrux I just ran the Comp again with the lights no. Now the results are similar to the lights-off-situation. I'm a little puzzled, so that might not have been the thing.
I'll have to sherlock some more, but not tonight. Thanks for your questions.

@Phaedrux using cheap china-led-strips from the hardware store. Something like this https://www.amazon.de/Lichterkette-Lichtleiste-Fernbedienung-Farbwechsel-selbstklebend/dp/B01I1HQ372/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=21K1FJT1T5A8X&keywords=led+streifen&qid=1580335271&sprefix=led+%2Caps%2C-1&sr=8-1
