Endstop no difference NC(S1) or NO(S0)

No matter what setting I use 574 S0 or S1 the endstops read triggered yes if I push the micro switch then they say no but both settings do the exact same thing.

What type of endstops are they and how are they connected?

Micro switches and they connected black, red , green(black) left to right

There are no universal color codes for endstops.
Please post a good photo of the switch, and of the plug into the Duet board.

Let me be even more specific. If I hold the switch and hit home it works as expected and when I release the switch it thinks that is home. What I am saying is that its that way if I have S1 or S0 it doesn't matter. The switch is always triggered unless pushed on both settings.

Those are Folgertech switches that are actually designed by Makerbot. You have them wired correctly from everything I can see.
The correct parameter in Duet/RepRap V2 for those particular switches is "S0". I know this is not working for you... and I'm not absolutely sure why... but for now, stick with "S0".

It does look in that photo like the solder joint on the COM (common) part of the microswitch is pretty bad. If you have the facilities to do so, I'd think about a "touch up" on all three of those pins, with a soldering iron and a tiny (TINY!) bit of new solder.

Question: When you click/release the switch, does the LED that is on the switch board change? I'd expect it to be "on" when pressed and "off" when released.
And, on a Duet 2, there are LEDs that are physically over between the motor drive connectors. Do those change when you press/release? The relation of off/on/press/release, etc. is more complicated... the important thing is do they change?

On the switch board, I assume. What about on the Duet?

@Danal both the light on the switch board and the light next to the motor connections on the Duet. They both light up when pressed

@resormar There was a thread https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/3919/ft5-conversion-endstop-issue about a similar problem, maybe the information in it can help you. (but when testing wiring, please be careful not to short 3,3 V and ground, this will damage the board!)
But I suspect a contact problem of the soldering joints, not only the com, but the middle pin also. It is possible that the soldering contact is only closed when a force againts the endstop is done. You could test the contacts with voltmeter measuring the connections (endstop detached from Duet board) and shake the plug while measuring. You could also hold the housing, press the endstop and if in this case the duet doesn't light the led, is propably a cold solder joint.
