4.3" blank after upgrade
-
HI *,
I received my PaneDue 4.3" today. My first reflex was to update the firmware, bad decision.
I followed the instruction from "https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/PanelDue_Firmware_update" and I used "https://github.com/dc42/PanelDueFirmware/releases/download/1.24/PanelDue-v2-4.3.bin" because I want to use it on a Duet 2.
The result was a blank screen. I tried "https://github.com/dc42/PanelDueFirmware/releases/download/1.24/PanelDue-v3-4.3.bin" which worked but this is the wrong version. My understanding is that I need to use "v2" because of the mainboard, right? Not because of the Firmware version.
I tried the "verify" function in "Bossa" which confirmed that the FW is fine.
Any ideas?
Cheers, Chriss

are you resetting the panel after the flashing? (i prefer the command line version with -R to deal with it for me)

@Chriss “My understanding is that I need to use "v2" because of the mainboard, right? ”
No.

@bearer Yes, I reseted the display after the flashing. Btw: I have the same problem with the oder firmware too. It works with v3 but not with v2. I may test the command line version tomorrow.
So if the v2/3 is indicating the firmware and not the board, should I upgrade my board to v3. The board is still on my desk, it will serve a cr10s pro v2 sooner or later, so I do not loose anything.

The V2 and V3 in this context refers to the version of PanelDue you have. It has nothing to do with the Duet board at all. If this is a new unit, it's most likely a V3.
PanelDue v3.0 4.3" PanelDue-v3-4.3.bin
That's your bin file to use. Go through the flashing steps again carefully.

@Phaedrux Thanks.... That made it clear. My understanding was wrong. :m I guess that somebody may like to make that point clear at the documentation. The filename is a bit confusing for a newbie.
