New Duet Maestro, no 3V3
-
Hi guys,
Got a Duet Maestro from FilamentOne. When plugged into the computer, I get no connection, nothing. Then I noticed that the 3V3 light wasn't on. I traced the schematic back to U2 and it looked blown. When I did a continuity test, I get a dead short between 3V3 and GND.
Anyone get this before? Can I get a replacement? FilamentOne stopped responding to any contact attempts several weeks ago so I can't really get any help through them.

FilamentOne is not an authorized reseller of Duet3D products to my knowledge, so you might be in chargeback territory if they're not responding.

I don't think FilamentOne is a reseller.

Checking their site I don't even see them selling Duets at all. (other than as part of an E3D tool changer kit)

Can you post a photo of the board?

@stamen0083 Looks like there's a burn mark on the 3.3V regulator:
Also, looks like a clone board to me, not a Duet3D board.

@droftarts Yep. U2 is blown and 3V3 is shorted to GND.
Back side of board. Might it really be a clone?

@stamen0083 did it come in a box like this?

@droftarts Yes, it did. All of it. Curiously, the side of the box says "Duet Wifi", but there's a "Maestro" sticker pasted over it. There are also no crimp ferrules included in the bag of connectors.
Is HanRun a known supplier of the Ethernet jack for Maestro?

@stamen0083 that is a genuine box but a few things are odd:
- FilamentOne has not bought Duet products from us for resale
- we do include crimp connectors with the connector packs
- the sticker on the back is not one of ours.
So it could be a duet that filamentone purchased from another reseller or purchased retail from us.
You are going to need to get onto filament one for this - its effectively a second hand sales issue.

@T3P3Tony The pack of connectors from F1 did have crimp contacts. The pack did not include the tube crimps for the bed heater and the power input. I don't know if those were removed from the pack at some point. The site documentation mentioned it but this board didn't come with it.
I'll have my credit card company deal with this. Thanks.
