Is the PanelDue display my only option?

I'm not sure how to do that.
Is there a menu on the panel itself?
-
yes, in settings

OK, found that. Didn't help.
If I have only the 4 pin connector connected, then I can see and operate all the icons but says printer not connected. If I then connect the 10 pin connector the screen comes up with the option for Marlin or TFT, however it will not accept any input -- will not go off that screen.
Again, I don't want you guys to spend a lot of time on this as it isn't a make or break problem. I would like to know if it is something simple I am overlooking. -
@GeorgeM can you confirm that the rx and tx pins are swapped?
The RX on the duet should go to the TX on the screen and vice versa -
Thanks @jay_s_uk . That was it. I had just plugged in the cable as it was without tracing the lines. Working now.

While I'm glad to hear that you found the problem, you're lucky it wasn't the power wires which were not hooked up as expected. That would have been a much more painful way to learn the lesson.
When it comes to cables, even directly from the manufacturer, always double check them with a multimeter and against the documentation as to what should go where or Murphy will hunt you down and make you pay!
Case in point; I unwrapped a brand new receiver to put in an RC model I was building the other day. I was about to use the programming cable which was included but I reminded myself of the "Check the cable" rule. Wouldn't you know it? Power and ground were reversed. On a cable from the manufacturer which was in a sealed anti-static bag together with the receiver.
Mistakes will happen and if you don't work on the basis that all cables are incorrectly wired until the opposite is proven, then sooner or later, you'll be letting the magic smoke out of something. Inevitably, this will happen when you're in a hurry and replacement electronics are only available from the other side of the planet.

Hi everybody
I am just installing Duet 2 Wifi in Creality Ender 5 Plus, and I wonder if I can use original 4,3'' touchscreen?
It has similar specs to older/smallest Paneldue, and is really nicely mounted in the chassis. And upgrading to 5'' or 7'' Paneldue it means additional enclosure.I don't want to just plug-in-and-wait-what-happens-next, don't want to fry anything.
Here is the specification of this display:
https://www.datasheetarchive.com/whats_new/f461dd15e005b2a27f4b985dece87d8b.htmlI will greatly appreciate if sb. can check if it looks safe and possible.

edit of the above - the actual display model is DMT48270C043 _06WT, similar but newer, I suppose.
-
How is the display connected to the orginal Ender 5 MB?
-
four wires - 5V, GND, Rx2, Tx2 (there are additional Rx4 and Tx4, not used)
there are no other connections (I assume SD card port is not functional)
