I have a werid problem. If I use prusaslicer the first layer is at the right height but with simplified3d is starts to high. What could cause this? I have checked settings no offsets are being added.

Share the starting g-code of both? S3D has to be doing something different

I think he means he wants you to share some of the actual gcode file you are printing and not just the start gcode. One thing to note is it is best to use relative extrusion and not absolute extrusion with the duet boards.

@JamesM what would relative gcode look like?

@nightmare90gt said in Werid slicer problems:

              G1 X5 Y10 Z0.2 F3000 ; get ready to prime

Are you off by 0.2mm height?

Post the a full sliced gcode from each so we can see how the start of the print and first layer plays out. The start gcode is part of it, but we need to see more.

Relative extrusion versus absolute extrusion is a bit complex and unrelated to your problem here, but here's a break down that explains it well since it's worth knowing anyway.

                  xyzCalibration_cube (Prusa).gcode xyzCalibration_cube (simp).gcode

simplified I have to adjust the baby set to .160mm to get a clean first layer.

I changed both to relative and they both seem to be off by .160mm per baby stepping. I have tried raising and lowering the probe height but just doesn't seem to work.

The gcode for each of those is completely different. Prusa slicer is using a first layer height of 0.35 and simplify is using 0.15. Simplify is using mesh compensation with G29, and Prusa slicer is not.

                        Simplify:

                        G90
