What timeframe did E3D quote you for the replacement parts?
I have a hemera sitting on the desk, shipped after they allegedly fixed the issues, odds are it'll keep sitting on the desk for a while still. I.e. provided I get new gears in some reasonable timeframe I could perhaps part with mine.
-
@PCR
that version is all metal and would be a bit heavier.
in the mellow version only the front part is metal for heat dissipation. the rest is plastic. -
My supplier told me no more will be filled until poss jan next year im assuming the gear issue is more of a china supply and covid issue... for that reason im willing to be forgiving you gave the same issue of
Extrusion skips
Mine starts poping within 10 mm at the lowere speed -
I have "retired" x3 working Hermes (yes Hermes as these were the originals before the handbags were thrown) in favour of Omnia Extruders
Mainly because the Hermes is a pain to change filament on, and I feel the Omnia actually (in my opinion, with back to back testing) produces better quality prints than the Hermes.

That triggers my spidy sense, the last delay was not all covid - they also made a lot of changes to the gears/production to remedy the issues the first users had without saying anything until they announced new stock 6 months or so later.
January wouldn't be an issue for me, but I'll have to do some digging to see if I can take E3Ds estimate at face value.

Thanks guys

i have to say i am a bit disappointed with e3ds performance of late.
only offering the hemera with that large motor and not having a smaller option.
and i have to say other companies are coming out with similar products that look equal if not better
like the BIQU BX extruder. -
The lag time is also ridiculous i only see it getting worse with a secont lock down commong to England
-
E3D has replacement parts for Hemera, just contact them directly.

Search for the term HE?ER? (Sorry I have to cover this term. You should know how to search.
LOL, that's just sad. But crikey thats pricey, not that the genuine article is cheap but the savings vs risk seems less than favorable in that case.
Still interesting to see them catching up, thanks for sharing!

i am tempted to buy it.
the heatbreak looks different.
not like the hemera and not like a their bimetal one.
looks like part moscito. -
Looks like a hemera copy. I wasnt impressed wwith the quality of prints that it did complete.... so i won't waist any more time with this design but thanks for the input. Second the three most important parts to our printers are the electronics ,,the. Extractor and the hotend so i prefer the original just to suport industy
Look at the wonderful job this site does..
Wouldnt it be fair if we supported real products
Instead of copy's ...at least for those three items
I believe they have earned it -

yes, but they have been out of stock for months with no timeline when they will restock.

I would highly recommend a bmg -m and a mosquito hotend (also have a magnum for high flow rates.) I tried the hamera but its defective and the factory does not have the parts to fix whats out there.. this is only my opinion but ive waisted monthe with the hemara and i cant get the parts to it ive talked with e3d and the suppier about repair parts they wont even give me a date when those will be avalable it is my inderstanding that they come frome china and are not available at this time.
My caution would be what if they are using the same gears ??? My second choice would be a mico swiss hotend on a bmg direct extuder setup
All proven senarios... e3d is a great co. But just like the rest of the world is having supply issues.. not there fault. i plan on getting another printer for the hermera in the future when they have spare parts..if i see the same quality issues when its relaired
I think you can guess what ill do with it ...There are tons of other option -

i'd be concerned they'll have the same issues as what they appear to be copying; not buying e3d aren't still tweaking the quality control as coivd alone is hardly reason for not having stock for this amount of time with no updates in sight just like last time.

I so aggree. What perplexes me. Is why dont they cut china out if the equation??? Just a thought
