      @Luke-sLaboratory

      Interesting.

But I thought printers with tool changers had all the wiring running to a moving part (on the X gantry) and the different tools "plugged in" to the moving part and thus all tools shared the one set of wires.

Sadly there is a patent on that.

My TC design can use either of these two coupling systems (I started designing the Stablebot Core after e3d's reveal of the TC system)
          https://e3d-online.com/products/toolchanger-motion-system-bundle-tools https://jubilee3d.com/index.php?title=Main_Page

Aside from patent issues - This makes it easier to support tools like the ASMBL, Cameras, Insert Placers, and many more tools that haven't even been created yet (I have a pellet extruder on the way!). But, it adds bulk from unique wiring per-tool. Perhaps V2 will include reliable on-gantry wire harnessing if there is a possibility of not infringing on other patents

Really? A patent on something so obvious?

            Who holds the patent?

What country issued the patent? I know America is terrible about issuing patents without taking to time to research the existing technologies that may apply. You might say we issue the best patents money can buy.

            Thanks.

Yes that looks like one of those patents issued by our patent office by someone who failed to do the research to see that this is an obvious thing to do and thus not deserving of a patent.

@fcwilt Oh, plenty of that, but I don't have the $ to play anti-patent troll.

                    Maybe someday.

sorry @bricoletout for occupying your thread.

Yes I will, but it's a hard work to choose.

Most industrial printers will be available on rental basis, installation and support included. Some even offer help with slicing.
Most industrial printer will have their own filament and you will have to buy it from them; it is where they are making their money.
If you only want to prototype (3d printers arent good for production anyway) you should be good to go with a lower stratasys but you will be stock with their filament either way. The "open source" type printers will be much cheaper and let you use wathever you want as filament but are unstable.. just get good out of the box printers and buy twice as much so you always have backups.

I only have a mini5+ currently running Klipper. I'm working on proper ports for the 6HC + 3HC, and haven't started CAN modules for these boards whatsoever. The 6HC + 3HC should be pretty easy ports, all things considered, but I'm not a microcontroller programmer. I'll be posting a build in here (and on my website) using the D3 Mini 5+ hopefully this weekend (just started assembly last night)

@Luke-sLaboratory same here, I design printers and parts but Im not a programmer.. ill take a look at your mini when its gona be public as I think they use the same chip so it might be a good start.
Yet I havent found anyone who installed klippers on 6hc/3hc..
