using 3x Piezo sensors under my bed. and its less sensitive towards the back of the bed, and often doesnt pickup probe points on all areas..

but really I'm hoping to get manual mesh setup figured out

Getting those to work an be a pain - I guess you have a delta?

In any case read my other post which tells you about what you want to do.

And you are trying to use sensors under the bed? Curious.

Have you considered using a add-on z probe that connects to the extruder assembly?

Those are going to be much easier to get working well - particularly when probing a grid.

Yes I have previously had BLtouch that got ripped off from a loose print.. then replaced it and it it died from a head crash, I had a Duet IR Sensor, same fate. so I tried Piezo and it worked for a while but isn't reliable.

So now I'm going back to just a optical homing switch, and manual mesh levelling

Probe type P0 will work in a pinch.

Even stall detection on Z may work for you if you meet a few requirements.

Wow. That is a one streak of bad luck.

How about an inductive sensor - they are quite sturdy - and if you don't use a bed with any sort of magnets they work very well.

Yeah - so am I - really like it but it means no more inductive sensor - back to the noisy BLTouch.

I didnt realize the magnets interfered with inductive sensors, how does prusa get away with it?

Perhaps they arrange the probe points to be away from the magnets?

Easy? That depends on what you consider easy.

My first reply to you covered how to set the Z probe configuration to allow bed probing when there is no Z probe.

Setting m558 P0 and then using g29 as normal will ask you to manually jog the nozzle to touch the bed at each point.

It works - I used to do it before I went ahead and installed a Z probe.

Have you considered a removable Z probe - then it cannot get damaged during normal operations.
