My apologies.
I should have mentioned in the upper right of the Object Model browser there is a "Refresh" button that needs to be clicked to be sure that data displayed is correct.
See if that makes a difference in what you are seeing.

no difference, both situations the same. Control LED switched on/off.

The leads to a few questions:
- is there an LED on your inductive sensor the shows it's state?
- you measured the voltage at the end stop input pin?
- you are connected to and checking the correct end stop input?

yes, it also switches on/off. not triggered-on and triggered-off

I changed R1 to 56k and now measure 3,4V untriggered and a few mV triggered

It seems like everything is correct yet not working - that is hard to understand.
How about the end stop LED on the duet - does it track the state of the LED on the inductive sensor?

I tested with a microswitch, everything works fine.

i think there was a post a while back that the signal can be strong enought for the led to change but not the processor to pick up the signal

Well I'm at a loss as to what is going wrong.

I measured at the pin now, 3,4V (untriggered) and 1,45V !!!!! (triggered)
why this?

Well there is the problem - both of those states are the same logic level as far as the board is concerned.
You must have a wiring error.
