I accidentally burn the driver 3 for extruded motor on my duet wifi. I have cut out the driver and stopped the error messaging. Now I can’t get the extruder motor to work on E1. I added M569 P4 S1, switched M584 to E4, switched M308 to E1, and switched M950 to E1. On the tools it has M563 P0 H1 F1 and if I try to change to M563 P0 D1 H1 than it removes the hotend tool from the interface. I am getting no power to the extruder stepper motor even with cold extrusion on. Maybe e1 is broke too. I don’t know. Any suggestions? And would adding an expansion board replace the burnt driver? I hate to replace this board I just bought and it seems like there should be a way to work around it.

If it was just the driver that failed, you didn't need to change the heater bindings as well, but if you want to, that's fine, just remember to move the actual cable connections also.

Your tool definition is missing the D0 to tell it to use the first defined extruder. I thnk this is the main problem. You should have M563 P0 D0 H1 F1

Can you send M122 and M98 P"config.g" in the Gcode console in DWC and post the results?

Can you confirm what version of DWC you are using as well?

@jackd2282 You don't assign the extruder to the first tool so that doesn't seem right. Change back to M563 P0 D0 H1 F0 ; define tool 0 and then rerun config.g as Phaedrux suggested.

@phaedrux on the expansion board if I can’t get this sorted is that an option instead of a new board?

@chrishamm when I change to that it removes the hotend from the interface for some reason

@jackd2282 With the M584 code from your config.g you map driver 4 to extruder drive 0, so it should be possible to use M563 P0 D0 H1 F0 as well. If no tool shows up, rerunning config.g with M98 P"config.g" as suggested by Phaedrux will show why it does not work.

How did you "burn" driver 3?

Can you provide some photos of the board? Especially close ups of the drivers?

@jackd2282 I hooked up my new bondtech ddx and my guess is that the motor was wired wrong cause it got hot then the driver burned

                                        Driver 3 is definitely damaged.

And it sounds like you still have the motor wired incorrectly.

Carefully identify the motors phase pairs first before wiring them up again.

@phaedrux I made sure the phases are right and tried all 4 combinations on the motor. No luck. Maybe E1 is also damaged?

Possibly, or the damage to driver 3 is also preventing driver 4 from working.

Can you provide some photos of the board? Especially close ups of the drivers?

Do you notice any damage or pock marks?
