How to run a different Linux Distro for the RPi 4b/SBC host as it is I do not want Raspbian but will stick with it granted it is absolutely necessary? As in can I update the Duet3d repository over to Ubuntu and use Ubuntu as the SBC Host?

I think as long as you can add the Duet repositories you should be able to install what you need from it. Maybe I'm way off though.

@phaedrux I believe you are absolutely correct I just dont know where to Git the repository from? I guess it is not a question people ask everyday either but itd be nice to know where to get/git the repository from I know it must exist somewhere. Id like to have Ubuntu as the Distro for the Duet 3 Mini 5+'s network server though Im just not that strong in the cloning repositories dept though I know with Linux you can, in a lot of ways, make one distro just like another distro granted you clone the proper repositories over Im guessing it sounds like a simple plan but am not familiar with that process to much as Ive never really dont it before though I do have some Linux experience it is not something I do on a daily basis anymore I used to when I was into Software Defined Radio stuffs a while back. Anyways thanks!

@pickett Since you're using Ubuntu you could probably use the same package lists as for Raspbian (see here). For further details about the build process, see here.

@pickett Ive got it working under Armbian and Ubunto both being Debian based the Duet packages are easy to install. Had a little issue with finding the right GPIO ready pin unnder the SBC I was using. Odriod C4 rather than a Pi.

Has the section for setting up the package repo that will work on any Debian based distros.

I haven't tried compiling from source. I can see the top level at https://github.com/Duet3D but not sure what all you;d need to build for a working SBC.
