      I just updated Simplify3d (yes, after 5 years they actually did an update) and now my most reliable print timing (Filament Usage time) shows n/a. Anyone know what would cause that? I'm running RRF 3.4.2.

      Thanks.

        @markz no doubt they changed the syntax for a comment that RRF/DWC needs, can you post a gocde file (or at least the header and the first few hundred lines) here for us to look at.

            @T3P3Tony And here is more or less the same file in V4 (it failed to fully load the model def). TinyTestv4.gcode

              @T3P3Tony V4 says "Filament Length:" at the bottom. V5 says "Material Length:" at the bottom

                @markz post processing script:

                {REPLACE "Material Length" "Filament length"}

                  Yes, editing the summary line to Filament length from Material Length took care of it.

                  Thanks, all.

                  p.s. looking quickly at the code it's on line 729 of Storage\FileInfoParser.cpp in 3.4.2

                    @markz I'll fix this in 3.5beta2. Please supply a sample GCode file produced by S3D v5 so that I can test it.

                      @dc42 Here you go. This prints a small object using PETG. Let me know if you want something different. Looking at the GCode file, line 266 calls my init macro - which you can just comment out - it does a home then wipes the nozzle.

                        @markz thanks. It's a good thing I asked you for a file because I had failed to notice the change in case of the letter L in the text to search for! I now have this working in the 3.5 source code.

                            @dc42 Just to let you know we updated one of our machines to 3.5.0-b3 still with Simplify3D 5.0.0 and 5.1.0 no filament usage in the Jobs lists.

                            Bigger and bigger… sky is the limit.

                              I am in the same exact boat. I’ve had s3d I think since it’s inception. It was unpleasantly expensive but it was also just far better that the slap dash free sliders at the time (manual supports and a good preview were a game changer). But I’ve just been using it on momentum for the last few years.

                              New slices have interesting infills and organic tree ports and all sorts of fun feature. I was hoping s3d would step up so I wouldn’t have to recalibrate everything for a new slicer, but I think we’ve reached that point.

                                    @dvmourik thanks. The filament length in those files is already recognised in the 3.5.0-beta.3 build of RRF. I have back-ported the change so that it will be included in the forthcoming 3.4.6 release too.
