Duet3 6HC out1 power
-
Hello everyone,
I have problems with getting 24v output on the out1/2/3 on the duet3 mainboard 6hc revision1.01a. I have a 24V input, that I can detect with my voltmeter. I manage to get my stepper motors running and they seem to work fine.
Now I want to power my toolboard 1LC via one of the out(puts) 1,2 or 3. However when I use my voltmeter to measure out1/2/3 I do not get any positive value, only 0V. What could cause this problem? Is there maybe still something in the config file I need to adjust? Could anybody help me with this issue. In the image I further included out0 which also has 0V.

@silverpoint Can you post your config as text and not a link please.
Also those outputs are switched so they wouldn't have voltage unless you are trying to use them.

@Rushmere3D Thank you for the information.
I tried to use them, however when I connected out1 to the toollboards' power supply I did not see anything happening? How would you switch them 'on' to 24V? Do you have to do the 'switching' in the config file?

What reason do you have for powering the tool board from the 6HC rather than directly from your power supply ???

@silverpoint Simply plugging something into it doesn't "use" it, they are topically used for heaters. So you'd need to use gcode to switch it on.
I would power the tool board directly from the PSU. Because you want 6HC and toolbars to power at the same time.

@silverpoint As others have pointed out, those are heater outputs. You'll find that the positive side is live but the negative side is switched to gnd via MOSFETs. They are no suitable for powering anything other than heaters.

@deckingman @Rushmere3D Thanks for the explanations. It is clear to me now how to use it.
