My PanelDue 5i using 4 pin connection, seems to invert color themes. Here I have light theme selected and it's dark themed. Can anyone confirm the CMY color bands on the top corner are correct? You can see I've upgraded to the latest firmware.

It's not hurting functionality but I am hoping the colors aren't inverted somehow because none of the colors look like they should. It's affecting the contrast which makes it harder to read more than anything.

Which firmware file did you use and what hardware version is the PanelDue? I think you may have loaded an incorrect file.

Are you certain? Wrong colours are typical when you flash the non-"i" version on an integrated board such as yours, or vice versa. This is how the colour bars at the top right should look, regardless of which theme you select.

@themitch22 If we can confirm that the correct firmware is on the PanelDue (and I'm pretty sure it is), I think this is most likely a hardware failure. Interesting that you get CMYK!

I have a screen that has a similar issue, though the colours have failed in a different way, in that they are inverted except for the first part of each colour. I have to set it to dark theme 2 to get it to show anything sensible:
                0361948f-5022-43b1-9f28-080d892a49d9-image.png
This is a correctly working screen, same settings, both screens freshly flashed with the same firmware (PanelDueFirmware-logo-3.4.1-5.0i.bin):

That the bars look like they get taller as each colour gets brighter on this setting is, I think, an optical illusion and/or a camera issue. It doesn't look like that in 'real life'!

@themitch22 I saw your Twitter post about this issue, that you updated from 1.24 direct to the latest. Was it working correctly on 1.24? Was it correct before you updated the firmware, or has it changed since updating to the latest?

@droftarts yes I believe it had the same light/dark theme inversion before I upgraded the firmware. If it is a hardware issue, I’m just wondering if it could be the ssd1963 driver or the build in LCD components. If it’s the built in lcd it would be easier to swap the LCD itself.

I can try the 3.4.0-5i firmware.

@themitch22 Thanks, looks like it is a hardware issue. I tried mine with some older firmware versions (1.24 and 1.21), but it was the same. I don't remember when mine first started having the issue, but I vaguely remember it wasn't a firmware update that caused it. @dc42 did say to me "I did once have a 5i display with a badly soldered pin on one of the large chips, that resulted in wrong colours", but I can't see any problems with the soldering on mine.

I'm sending mine to @dc42 to have a look at; I'll keep you posted.

@themitch22 the only time I've seen a hardware problem like that, it was caused by a bad solder joint on one of the ICs and I was able to fix it. I think it was on the SSD1963 but I can't remember for sure. I'll search for the details and report back.

@themitch22 I found the details of the hardware issue that I came across on a display before that was showing incorrect colours. See the image below.

Has your display always shown incorrect colours?

@dc42 I'll check those solder points and report back.
