@tecno You got a hotend cooling fan on the hotend? I made an adapter to mount the accelerometer using two of the fan bolts.

@tecno please show the effector from below anyways, maybe there is a way there.

Only way is this on photo. Y axis is on my hand side, is this OK as I can not place the board in other direction.

I have managed to place the LIS3DSH board and made cabling for it.

              M955 P0 is OK
Trying M956 command fails to start data collection.

Is this lacking Ixx info in config?

                  494b6f46-9928-4889-ab6f-5487ba21c224-image.png

The accelerometer is OK, tested on other printer.
Used multimeter to verify connection pin to pin.

                  Tried another IO for CS/INT

Is there a way to test port functionality for accelerometer on Mini5+ Lan version

I suspect that something is wrong with this board as it will not function.

@tecno are you using the same cabling on both machines, or different cabling? The most common issue we see with these accelerometers is that the CS signal is sensitive to noise, which it can pick up from other signals in the same cable. Better cabling fixes the problem, however a small capacitor between CS and ground on the LIS3D[S]H board would probably fix it too. 220pF might be a suitable value.

Two different cabling, on this Delta I have two different shielded cables one for VCC/GND/CS shield grounded on Duet side.

                        Will try cap

@tecno you could try 470pF or even 1nF. If that still doesn't work then I would suspect a bad connection.

The error message you reported earlier concerning INT1 suggests that the INT line was not connected or was not configured correctly.

Just made a very short cable just to verify if port on Duet board is busted or not = it is not.

                                  lis3dsh_short.JPG

So the long cable I have is just too much ~2.10m, Maybe I can cut it down to ~1.6m, need to have space to move all axis 😉 for input shaping.

Is it really that bad that my accelerometer boards are useless due to cable lenght?

Is there any development as regards Smart effector to include accelerometer?

@tecno I am pushing for the combined Smart Effector and tool board to be done soon. We will increase the size and the rod spacing (perhaps from 55 to 70mm) to accommodate a small direct drive extruder, and maybe change the hot end mounting to suit the E3D Revo Voron hot end. Does that sound OK?

That sounds to be very good solution to get all signals as short as possible.

If you need a beta tester I am here awaiting 🙂

FWIW, it sounds fabulous to me - it has been mentioned a number of times, and I expect I'll place an order as soon as I see it (I'd even pre-order). Personally, I'd prefer a Revo Micro (because I currently have a revo micro on my smarteffector, so it avoids additional purchases) but I'd still buy if I needed a new Revo heatsink.

My preferred extruder would be orbiter (which I have on other printer and am happy with), but I do note that it's more eccentric (about the filament path) than some other options.
