    I have a mature and stable Duet 2 Eth + Duex5 installation. I'd like to use stepper channel 10 & 11 for experiments on the machine using external drivers.

    Has anyone made an adapter board to hook up external drivers to these channels?

    I don't want to duplicate anyone else's work if there's one that fits my needs.

      @JRDM you can either use a partially populated RAMPs board, or some stepstick breakout boards. I use three of these with TMC2130's for my triple z on my Duet2Wifi printer:

        @JRDM I've done it with a BTT exp-mot v1.1 adapter. It has three sockets, but you can only use two. The ribbon cables supplied with the kit are probably too short. But longer ones are available everywhere.

          @o_lampe I meant an adapter similar to the "Duet Expansion Breakout Board" with level shifting for fully external drivers such as Geckos. But with that model, maybe I can two-step it because there's stepstick to screw terminal adapters with level shifters.

            @JRDM I thought I remembered someone was working on one a couple of years ago, but now can’t find it.

            If you want level shifting for large drivers, a cut-down two-driver version of the Duet 3D expansion breakout board might be easiest. See https://docs.duet3d.com/Duet3D_hardware/Duet_2_family/Duet_Expansion_Breakout_Board

              @o_lampe On a Duet 2? I just checked the pinout on the BTT adapter and it doesn't match the pins on the Duet2.

              Assuming I don't find an existing design that works, I think I'll make an adapter using perfboard.

                @JRDM
                I tested it on a Fly Mellow board and I'm pretty sure they didn't 'invent the wheel new' with their EXP-connectors.
                I think these EXP1/EXP2 connectors are all the same since RAMPS and Marlin.
                IIRC there were versions where you had to flip the housing 180°, but the rest should match.

                  @o_lampe Totally different board, totally different ports/pinouts...
