Aluminum Buildplate Cast tooling plate

Hi Jannis.
If you want I will send it on to you. I have done this in the past for people. Please feel free to PM me, or contact me via Precision Piezo website (see my sig). Please mark your email FAO Simon, as Idris my colleague is handing all the day to day operations.

I'm interested too (I live in France); may I also contact you in private?
-
@djdemond Thanks! I sent an email just now
Will be interesting to see the shipping charges.
(might be a good idea to check before any ordering is done)-Jannis

I hope to create a 370x310x6mm buildplate where I can cnc out pockets for magnets on the top surface for a gecktotec magnetic buildplate
@Janis, what do you plan to do, exactly, with magnets? I also plan to put some. I made a test, and a 5x5 matrix of d20xh5 rare earth¹ magnets works fine on a 300x300 bed.
¹ not neodyme, as those handling >80°C are very expensive

Hi I will get those emails later on I suspect. What I did previously was ask you to order the metal from clickmetal (I use them too) or whoever, to be delivered to my workplace. Then you book the ongoing courier to get it from my workplace to you, I will affix any different labels that you send to me (I have a 2D printer too ).

@fma I want to do a custom buildplate like the geckotec system.
(they dont have the base plate for my Tevo Tornado)-J

Ok, I plan to do the same. But with more magnets.

For those people in the US that are interested in getting tooling plate I have used these guys in the past and am VERY happy with them. They ship quickly and the plate they sent me was perfect.
@DjDemonD I would be interested as well. I was looking at trying to do something like this myself, but the machining of the plate poses a challenge for me currently. I will reach out to you by email to discuss further!

This is who I ordered my bed plate from as well. Good pricing and quick shipping. My 18" X 18" bed was only had an .008" (.203mm) twist in it. Pretty good for that size.

Have ordered 3 pieces from Midwest. They do it right!

Simon, I found a cheap metal plate (not tooling plate) to make some real tests with my magnet system. When it's all working fine, I will contact you for a good plate from Clickmetal.
BTW, for a 300x300 bed, what thickness do you suggest? Is 5mm enough? I don't wan't to oversize it unless necessary, as it will take more time to heat up...
Thanks.
