I have released firmware 2.0RC6 for the Duet 2 series and 1.21.1 for the older Duets at https://github.com/dc42/RepRapFirmware/releases/tag/2.0RC6. This release improves the support for DHT temperature/humidity sensors and fixes a number of bugs. See https://github.com/dc42/RepRapFirmware/blob/dev/WHATS_NEW.md for the upgrade notes and change list.

Please give short feedback on this release (good or bad) in this thread. If you encounter an issue that may need more than a short discussion, please start a new thread about it instead but include "2.0RC6" in the thread title.

Just flashed and after some soldering-iron-action I can already confirm that multiple DHT22 sensors in fact do work. I have two of them connected and I get different measurements for both of them.

Also I can confirm that S1 is now required to activate a simple filament switch.

I haven't tested anything else yet. Will do a print tomorrow.

@dc42 I updated my firmware just now to 2.0RC6 and it wiped many of my .gcode files. Moreover, I could upload .gcode files without any error but I could not find them in the interface. I also cannot create a folder. Any suggestions?

          Cheers,

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems. Which firmware version were you running before upgrading to 2.0RC6? Are you running DWC 1.21.1? You may need to clear the browser cache to prevent it using files from older versions of DWC.

              @dc42, I was running 1.21 firmware, 1.21 DWC and 1.21 wifiserver before.

I upgraded to 2.0RC6 firmware and 1.21.1 DWC and 1.21 wifiserver.

I just noticed that my machine is adding Z-hop even though I have set M207 Z0. There is no Z-hop turned on in the slicer nor in the G-code being printed.

I tried increasing to M207 Z1 and the machine did increase the amount of movement. I then resent M207 Z0 and it went back to some small fraction of a mm but can't tell how much it is.

Are you using firmware retraction in the slicer? If so, please run M207 without parameters and confirm that it says there is zero Z hop configured. Also please provide a sample of the GCode that demonstrates this.

Do you have mesh bed compensation enabled, and if so, could the "Z hop" be the normal action of bed compensation?

Yes I am using FW retract. I did confirm that it reported the Z parameter set to 0. I do not use bed compensation.

I am going to do some more investigation. It looks like some of what I was seeing may have been some how related to the Z shrink compensation in KISSlicer. I need to run with that turned off. I'll report shortly.

Looks like the slicer was adding an extra z move due to the z shrink compensation feature in it and it happened to line up with the retraction timing. This isn't a firmware issue. Sorry for the confusion.

Unfortunately, I still have an unstable DWC connection.

It will show "pending" for a long time (about 2 seconds), then "failed" and from then on DWC will not be updated anymore.

Can this be due to a bad Wi-Fi connection?
But at 1.21 I had no such problems.

                            Here are the diagnostics:

                              Hi,
                              I think I found a little bug.
(However I'm not sure it'is caused by the new release.)

It start the load filament macro on Tool 0, and when i see that this was not the correct macro, I shuted down the Duet.
When powered up again. I can no more right click on Tool 0 to use the filament macro.

                              Tool 1 keep working right.

                              Bye.

@dc42 - As I mentioned yesterday, I could not find my old files in DWC but all the files are present when I access the card via panel due. I am at work so I will clear the cache and reinstall the duet web control when I get back home today.

I think somebody mentioned in other thread about fan sliders. I also have the same problem - I am able to slide the fan control by holding the left mouse button but when I leave the button the slider bounces back to previous value. If I start clicking step by step in small increments 5% each time, it works.

                                Cheers,

Unfortunately, I still have an unstable DWC connection.

It will show "pending" for a long time (about 2 seconds), then "failed" and from then on DWC will not be updated anymore.

The WiFi code hasn't changed between 1.21 and 2.0. As your WiFi signal strength is quite low, I suspect there may have been a change in your WiFi environment - in which case, reverting to firmware 1.21 will show the same problem (if the change in the environment is still present).

Are you able to reconnect DWC after the error? Have you increased the AJAX retry count in DWC from the default of 1?

Just ran a 10 hour print with 2.0RC6 with no issue's to report on my Duet Ethernet P3 Steel.

@dc42 I updated my firmware just now to 2.0RC6 and it wiped many of my .gcode files. Moreover, I could upload .gcode files without any error but I could not find them in the interface. I also cannot create a folder. Any suggestions?

                                      Cheers,
                                      Vasan

The number of GCode files in a single folder that can be displayed by DWC is lower than before. This was required to fix other issues. So I suspect that the files are all there, just not being displayed. Likewise the new folder you created. The workaround is to move some files into subfolders. If you can't see any subfolders in DWC, you may have to move the SD card to a PC to do this. Alternatively, use the backup facility in DWC to backup the files that you can see, then delete them; then you should be able to see the other files.

I'll add this to the upgrade notes.

                                        Hi,
                                        I think I found a little bug.

                                        Bye.

                                        Does reloading DWC fix this?
