I think I would like to give some cudos to all the people bending over backwards to help abstracktlighting. You are showing an amazing amount of patience !

@infiniteloop Hi how you doing? I am almost good except for my z. the bracket I made for my bl touch isnt holding it in the right spot. whould you happen to know how I can get it to let me not use it and manually set Z so i could print a bracjket?
-
You can edit config.g and find the line with M558 P9 for the BLTouch. You can put a ; in front of that line to comment it out. Then below that put a line that says M558 P0. That will let you use a jog dialogue box to move the Z axis down until the nozzle touchs the bed when you try to home your Z axis.

@Phaedrux ALRIGHT GREAT THANKS MAN i REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!!

Hi how you doing?
I’m fine, but maybe you should cool down a bit: 3D printing is less a matter of mood than a challenge of logical thinking. It doesn’t help to be angry with your printer or with the community…
This said, you can always resort to handcrafted bed levelling. Just move your nozzle to every X/Y coordinate you want to probe, jog Z down until a sheet of paper barely fits between nozzle and bed, adjust the lead screws accordingly…
Best is to follow this guide, it contains instructions dedicated to the Ender 3 which you happen to own.
After you’re done with all corners of the bed and the results are consistent, enter G10 L20 P0 Z0 to define the current nozzle height (of tool 0) as Z=0. Then: print.

@infiniteloop Thanks for your printer advice I appreciate THAT. As for your other advice I am thankful for the community members that helped or tried as I stated. I dont need you to advise me on what you wrongly perceived as anger, just as I wont advise you on what I may wrongly perceive as arrogance. I merely stated that I think Duet would be alot more user friendly if they had more direct clear and concise paths and procedures for trouble shooting that can be accessed without having to navigate through personalities to retrieve required assistance in a timely non-judgemental manner. I stand by my assertion that it's not a beneficial aspect for a business model. Thanks again for sticking to printer advising and steering away from psycho analyzing.

@abstraktlighting Good to hear you're back on track.
It would be great to get your feedback on HOW the documentation could be changed to make it more approachable; trying to improve it is an ongoing process, particularly when there is such a broad range of information in the wiki. The first/landing page of the documentation has links to most aspects of setting up, using and troubleshooting your Duet. When you know what you are looking for, using the wiki search facility is often better than trying to follow links through the wiki to find specific information. However, for the novice with little knowledge of the Duet, it's understandable that it's easy to get lost. So anything that you feel we can change would be useful to know.
Part of the problem is that Duet3D sell the Duet family of controllers to a broad range of people, novice to professionals, for use in a virtually unlimited range of machines, not just 3D printers. The Duet is specifically designed to be as configurable as possible, and that that configuration is able to be changed easily (ie you don't have to change the firmware, compile and upload it every time). This makes it difficult to have a one-size-fits-all approach to the documentation; different users have different needs. We don't have the benefit of a 'walled-garden', with known hardware and settings, that manufacturers of 3D printers tend to have (but often don't!). So as far as possible, the documentation is there to support each individual, whatever their application, with the forum to help when things aren't clear.

@droftarts Thanks for asking because it really takes the fun out of it when it doesnt work.
I think there should be a page that simply states :
For newly installed duet wifi click here. It wipes the board clean
Then has a document to download that says- install this on your sd card via your computer. it should
include the config file for that printer and have only what it
takes to initiate a print without any add-ons that arent
standard for that printer. and 1 test model gcode file - insert sd card into sd card slot on Duet
- power cycle Duet
- Connect the Duet via usb to your computer
- Identify com port Duet is using via device manager port com
properties (or whatever) - Get Yat open Yat Open terminal on Yat if it wont open repeat
step 5 until it opens - type M558 network whatever password whatever blah blah
- type M552S0 on Yat Message should say ok LF Wifi started or
idle - type M552S1 on Yat Message should say.....iP 192.168.1.??
- confirm that the netwoprk matches the network that your
computer is on and that you have internet access - open your browser and type the same IP address and hit
enter, dwc should automatically open. - uplaod test model gcode file included here double click and
hit print - Follow prompts for manual bed levelling if they apply
- enjoy your Duet for additional add-ons ie BLTouch,Filament
Sensors etc please refer to the following.
Instead of running here and there and uploading old versions and crap you dont need and asking people and posting and waiting. Also what isnt current on github might be archived so only the current versions are available on the immediate.
If someone screws up they start over.
- install this on your sd card via your computer. it should

the configurator for example has a default for the ender 3 pro.
however just looking at what you posted, that you have a bltouch. this is not standard custom for your printer.also the wires on the ender 3 are all black. some users might connect the motors the other way round.
so have a one configurator that works for all is in my opinion an impossible task.
also 3d printing is not at the plug and play stage. i will require a lot of reading. and a lot of trial and error.
you will have to learn new concepts and sometimes revise your understanding. it can be a daunting task at times.
setting up the printer is just the beginning. you will have to experiment with temperatures, materials, retractions settings, speed etc. to produce good prints.if you are stuck the community is willing to help, but you will have to explain the steps that you have taken. the results you are getting and the result you expected. and as @droftarts said your feedback about your progress will be used to improve the process where possible.
-
@Veti I agree with most of that however
- thats a default for the endr3 pro. Is it correct ? does iot work? If not then it needs to. I would
need one for basic ender3 - I stated that it should be basic not enabling any add-ons like bl touch.
- Put a line that says if youy motors move the opposite way up load this macro. and have a
macro to run them backwards. and before one starts they can confirm how theyre wired
and make the selection that fits them. - Its definitely impossibble to have 1 that fits all, but not impossible to have the most popular
models covered. It may be a little work to set up but it will reduce the number of people
seeking simple answers ansd make them feel like Duet and its people care and they bought
a working product with basic customer service. - it could be more user friendly and plug and play for basic working printing. Theyre
welcome to read alot and experiment and its nicer to do so from a control configuration
that works. Why suffer?
Now go newby enjoy your Duet and have fun. Setting up the printer is just the beginning. Experiment, Learn new concepts, revise your understanding of temperatures, materials, retractions settings, speed etc. You have the hardware and resources to produce good prints. It can be daunting at times. If you get stuck you may need to reset and start this process over.
Duet Customer Service and the community are also willing to help.
(When seeking assistance please explain in detail the steps that you have taken. the results you expected and the results you are getting, also be prepared to provide config files and log entries if requested)and remember your feedback about your progress will be used to improve the process where possible.
Sincerely Duet Happy printing - thats a default for the endr3 pro. Is it correct ? does iot work? If not then it needs to. I would

Ender3 wont print, BLtouch turns off, head stops responding, need help. turns on heats and accepts g-code file. Then moves a bit and stops , not to resume. Then the config was messed up and I tried upgrading the firmware and got completely shut down. The community helpped but to no avail. Then customer service came through and got me up and running to take another shot. Thanks all. WHAT SUCKS IS YOU GOT THESE DUET BOARD DESIGNERS AND FIRMWARE GUYS AND ADMINS ETC THAT COULD EASILY TAKE A FEW MINUTES AND FIX ALMOST ALL THESE ISSUES PEOPLE HAVE ON HERE BUT THEY GIVE YOU ONELINERS AND IGNORE THE FACT THAT THE PRODUCT SHOULD BE BETTER SUPPORTED, AND RESOURCES MADE CLEARER. GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE WOULD WANT EVERY BODY TO HAVE WORKING DUETS AND MAKE IT THE BEST THEY CAN BUT THEY DONT. THEYD RATHER SEND YOU ON WILD GOOSE CHASES IT CANT BE GOOD FOR BUSINESS IN THE LONG RUN. TOO BAD.

You have Caps lock is did you know? if not please turn them off, if you did know, there is not need to act like a petulant child shouting
-
This is 100% USER ERROR and one user who would rather spit his dummy out and stamp their feet blaming everyone else rather than admit you are not yet up to the job.
-
If you have been at it for a month and made no progress I would advise you that you do not have the ability to use the required simple critical thought processes that it takes to operate this type of simple equipment.
-
might I suggest you take up knitting as 3d printing is obviously not for you.
-
As for support, The duet Ecosystem is among the BEST supported board in the business, If you dont believe me I would request that you go buy a smoothie board and then go ask Arthur Wolf for some help....... (good luck with that)
-
The ender 3 is one of the simplest printers to add a duet to, having added 8 duet boards to ender 3's now.
-
I have a full list of installation pictures and operational config files but in all honesty after the way you spat you're dummy out in the opening post i am struggling to find a good reason as to why I (and others) should take the time to help you.

@CaLviNx And here is a perfect example of a pompous ass errogant hater that is the reason no one should buy this product. I have other printers and even if I was born yesterday blaming the user for the inadequacies of Duets system is so typical. I like your reasoning they all suck so Duet sucks less. Great logic brainiac. lol What are you like 11yrs old. I see youre in love with your status here and being in your little club of people that paid for their board andhave it working,. So youre fine with the fact that others paid for a product that they dont have working and instead of showing how smart you are and posting a fix you run your mouth behind the anonymity of your computer. The fact is Duet the same as anyone else who'sm in the business of selling a product should have in place a system that gets every customer up and running without expecting them to deal with assholes like you who take shots from their mommies basement and only hurt sales. The customer is always right pal. Remember tat. If I feel this way and I take the time and endure the hassle of navigating through a sea of inept admins and developers that expect customers to exert an over abundance of effort in order to use their product then it goes to reason that there are a ton of others like me that will take their business somewhere else . Thats a great business model and probably the reason you live on your moms couch. If infact Duet sucks less than Bigtreetech or the others and theyre doing well for now just think how good business could be if they didnt suck at all. If they had great cshould have a

I’m locking this thread. Please keep discussions professional. Any more personal insults will result in a ban.
@abstraktlighting As I said to you last night, you’re best off posting a new thread on the forum. Try to explain the steps you are doing, and post your config.g and the Gcode file that causes the problem. Without this support cannot make useful suggestions. This largely why it’s taken so long to help you; we’re working without necessary information. I’m sure it will be fixable.
