Duet 3 Mainboard 6HC

Does this board support the paneldue?

Yes, when running in standalone mode. If you use Duet 3 with an attached RPi then you would normally use an HDMI touch screen connected to the RPi and running DWC instead.

So would you recommend this board for future upgrades for the high temperature delta printer i am designing? If i wanted to connect a touch screen would i have to use a raspberry pi?

Duet 3 can run in standalone mode (without RPi) with a PanelDue, just like Duet 2, except that the cabling (4-wire cable) doesn't support the SD card socket on PanelDue. If you attach a RPi then the file and macro-related functions of PanelDue won't work, so you should use a touch screen connected to the RPi instead.
The main drivers for using the more expensive Duet 3 rather the Duet 2 are:
- A need for greater or more flexible expansion.
- A need for higher stepper motor currents.
- A need for a customised user interface (which is easier to do using Duet 3/DWC than it is to modify PanelDue firmware).
- A need for the advanced features that the attached Raspberry Pi will be able to support.
If this is a one-off machine and Duet 2 (without a DueX expansion board) or Duet Maestro meets your needs, then there is no need to go to Duet 3. But if this is going to be a commercially-manufactured machine and the pricing permits the higher cost of Duet 3, then choosing Duet 3 will give you more flexibility.
