edit forgot the obligatory https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/What_to_do_if_your_Duet_won't_respond
-
two reds on each side of usb port and green then the red one next to the green tried 5 different cables and 4 pcs . 2 pc i was able to get ports with it before and all cables i have programmed with other devices
i have been to that link and tried all with no luck -
hm, sounds like it should work.
there is no sd card in the board?
and no signs of pysical damage?
-

if you have a powered USB hub, try connecting the duet 2 through that

upload thing can be a bit finicky; it edits the text as it uploads, so make sure to not use the text editor while upload is in progress and try again?
-

looks good, all the usual suspects look fine, then again the LEDs did suggest the same.
Grasping at straws before giving up, try the reset button and make sure it gives a good tactile feedback on both pressing and depressing it? Or even better use a multimeter to measure across the switch to check its not stuck. (with power off ofc)
edit: think you can safely remove the jumper once the red DIAG light comes on when erasing the firmware btw.
-
the red light stays on now but ill check the reset
the 4 contact pads on the sides of the reset have continuity . front two and back two . is that correct or should i measure in the two holes in the back ? -
@morf33 said in duet 2 wifi , erased no port after erase .:
front two and back two . is that correct
maybe should have mentioned that, but, yes, looking at the front of the switch there will be continuity left to right, but not front to back. (if you press the switch you'll have continuity front to back as well)
so in short, the switch isn't shorted out causing a problem.
-
yes that works properly when pressing front to back had continuity when pressed and when not press it does not .switch functioning properly
-
any next steps to try ?
-
its either any link in the USB chain or the CPU itself at this point i think.
So you could measure the D-/D+ pins on the computer side of the USB cable go to pin 136/137 on the ATSAM4E with a 27 ohm series resistance, but that'd be fiddly and statistically unlikely to be the issue given its new and worked recently?

Your erase jumper is still fitted. As far as i understand, after erasing firmware you have to remove that jumper and reboot board, then it will show up as bossa port.

not a problem as long as its removed before you write the firmware to the board. leaving it on will just mean the board doesn't leave bootloader mode and will show up as bossa after writing the firmware and resetting the board.
-
@bearer Ok, thanks for information. I actually never had to do this, so was just guessing.
-
Can you post another close up photo of the reset switch? Is it just me or does it seem askew?

its not perfect, but it is functional from his testing.

In device manager do you see any unknown devices?
When you plug it in do you get the new device chime?
Where you able to try with a USB hub?
Where you able to try a different PC?
