      Hi.

I did the update to 3.1.1 yesterday.
I don't know exactly from which version i came but it was some newer one (may be 3.0.x - I did last update on February this year (2020)).

After update to 3.1.1 (including WebControl and WebServer) the Duet 7" Panel was'nt connect to the Duet2Wifi. But the Webinterace was reachable.

I finished the online config creator to start with a clean config.
I downloaded the hole zip (including the firmwares) and replaced the content on SD card with the content in this zip file.

Since that i am not able to access the duet2wifi in any way. neither over Web or TouchPanel nor USB.

The SD Card isnt' readable anymore.
I start with a new SD card.
      I tried the content from online-config-zip (https://configtool.reprapfirmware.org/Start),
      the content from "SD_Card_Content.zip"
      (So both ways from https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/SD_Card#Section_Creating_the_file_structure)
and tried to copy the backuped SD Card content.

Nothing bring me back to talk with the Duet2Wifi.

I measered all 3 fuses, they are fine.
But i am not sure about the leds. They all shine continously, expect the led from the wifi modul.
Is that a singed for some harware defekt?

I hope for help. I wanted only to update the firmware and ends in a desaster.
The helpsites from duet for installng firmware or start to relive broken system are very confusing for me. So much refenrences and cases, i can't see the straigth way.

forgot: Happy new year to all 😉

post the config.g from the sd card

also you could redo the steps from

i could also offer my former config file.

i saw your link. since i got no reaction on pc site when plugging in the duet2wifi via usb, i stop very early in this documentation.

@peterfrosta said in Duet2 Wifi Update worked - for a short while:

            ;M552 S1 ; enable network

with this commented out you disabled networking
this was certainly not generated by the configurator.

you can pull out the sd card and edit the files on a computer

            M350 X128 Y128 Z32 E32 I0 ; configure microstepping without interpolation

            you are overloding the cpu.
its advised to stay with x16 and interpolation

            M308 S0 P"bedtemp" Y"thermistor" T102400 B4138 ; configure sensor 0 as thermistor on pin bedtemp

this is incorrect. find the correct values in your thermistor documentation.

try a different usb cable. a lot of cables will not work.

i didnt understand what u explain. i thought the M308 parameter ist default.

but the sd card reader works with this cable?! i give it a try.

i tried to reset the hole firmware (https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Installing_and_Updating_Firmware#Section_Fallback_procedure_Num_3)
I placed the Erase Jumper but the Diag LED keeps shining 😞

i tried to reset the hole firmware (https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Installing_and_Updating_Firmware#Section_Fallback_procedure_Num_3)
I placed the Erase Jumper but the Diag LED keeps shining

that erased the firmware. no config will bring back the duet.
you need to flash it via bossa. that is now the only way

                    M350 X64 Y64 Z64 E64 I1 ; configure microstepping with interpolation

the duet wifi can not do interpolation at x64 only x16

i thought the M308 parameter ist default.

default does not mean its correct

You'll need to follow this to flash the 3.1.1 firmware on the board again.

                      https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/tag/3.1.1

                      https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Installing_and_Updating_Firmware#Section_Fallback_procedure_Num_3

On your SD card you'll need the folder structure described here: https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/SD_Card#Section_Creating_the_file_structure

For the /www folder use the contents of the DuetWebControl zip file from the 3.1.1 release.

For the /sys folder use the config files you got from the config tool.

For future reference, to update the firmware to a major version all you need to do is upload a single zip file in the web interface. Don't extract it first. Just upload it to the system tab in DWC.

you jumped the comments. the overloading is in regards to the microstepping.

a wrong beta value for the thermistor will result in an incorrect temperature reported.

One thing i noticed in your picture is the connector for the paneldue on the Duet wifi On my board the green cable is nearest the wifi module. of course this also depends how the plug is populated at the panel due end as well. It may be worth investigating to double check the connections are correct.
                                  Good luck

Does anything show up in device manager? Does the computer make a new device connected chime?

@Phaedrux no, nothing. no sound, no icon in the device manager.
in former times it worked well.

in the meanwhile i could borrow one new duet2wifi from a friend. this connect immediately by usb.

i am allowed to use it for the next weeks.
I think my duet is broken but maybe still in warrenty.
                                      I will contect duet3d.

i tried a lot cable and all cable worked with USB-Stick and with the new (borrowed) Duet2Wifi.
In former times some of this cable worked with my "broken" Duet2Wifi.
