      I have a question. Why is it not possible to set the extruder position with G92 E???

      Again and again we have the issue that after a purge and a long retract we are not given any filament at the start of printing. We would like to reset the position manually, but I have the impression that the command G92 E is not setting the extruder axis for both RRF 2.05.1 and RRF 3.3.

      It works perfectly with the XYZ axes.

      Is there a reason for this?

        @cr3d do you have a tool selected when you're trying to use it?

        edit, just tried with a tool selected in both M82 and M83 mode and the drive position for E doesn't change for me either

            @phaedrux could be. I did try it on an SBC based printer running 3.3.0. I'll try on a standalone

              @jay_s_uk

              I tried it with RRF 2.05.1 and RRF 3.3 ... it doesn´t work with both... Also with M83 and M82

              @Phaedrux

              What could be done? I couldn´t find a solution at this post...

                I think it's just a display issue rather than it not resetting the actual position. Otherwise absolute extrusion wouldn't work. Check the actual extruder position with M114

                  @phaedrux It displays the extruder location correctly during a print.
                  What is more odd is the output of M114

                  m114
                  X:121.263 Y:143.324 Z:0.300 E:0.000 E0:896.7 Count 10462 12499 120 Machine 121.263 143.324 0.300 Bed comp 0.000

                  I only have 1 extruder configured....
