Visit the Duet3d team (+Guest!) at the TCT show 2017
-
The Duet3d team will be exhibiting at the TCT Show 2017 from 26-28 September in the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, UK.
The Duet3d Stand
We will be at stand J56
We plan to have printers on the stand to show off the Duet Electronics, Smart Effector, PanelDue and more. We won't be selling products on the stand as its logistically difficult and distracts us from talking to everyone, however if you are looking for a Duet3d product then it will be worth a visit!
The show is free to attend, you can register for the show with the event organisers here:
www.tctshow.com/registerIf you would like an electronic ticket by email then please email tct@duet3d.com, I will send out tickets closer to the event.
Guest appearance
Ian Pegg (Deckingman here on the forum) will be bringing his monster printer along, check out his blog post here:

TCT Show
The TCT show is a large additive manufacturing/3d Printing show focused more on the industry side of 3d printing (as opposed to the 3d print show - consumer and design focused or maker faires - maker/hacker focused). There will be loads of exhibitors and a full program of talks.
You can visit the show between 09:30hrs – 17:00hrs each day (closes 1600 on the last day). -
Sorry can't be there, but I just want to wish you all the success possible at the show, you guys deserve it. Fantastic products fantastic support, fantastic team.

Hope you do Simon. It'll be good to meet you - see Tony's (now amended) original post.

Yeah likewise, I'll probably be doing a little guerilla marketing for Precision Piezo. Debating whether they'll let me in with a 3d printer in a rucksac? Im making a lithium pack for my microdelta, see if it can go truly portable.
I'll only be there Wednesday, too much on at the day job to do the full 3days.

Can't be there… I really loved to!

I need to get to the UK sometime to meet you guys and visit E3D HQ.
Right now I've got New York Maker Faire and I'm trying to get to the next Bay Area one as well.
Maybe next year…
Best of luck everyone, and that is a very large COREXY. I'd build one, but I don't think I can sustain the filament costs for anything larger than a 300mm^3 volume for the time being.

I'd build one, but I don't think I can sustain the filament costs for anything larger than a 300mm^3 volume for the time being.Tell me about it! Print area is about 375mm x 350 x 720 but being 5 colour, it needs to be fed with 5 reels at a time. That makes it difficult if you just want to experiment with different filaments. I can easily swap between 3 colour 0.5mm, 3 colour 0.9 mm and 5 colour 0.5 mm Diamond hot ends - they just drop in the the X carriage mount. One of my next planned "upgrades" is to have the option to fit a single colour hot end. Although "upgrading" to single colour option does seem a strange concept…..........

Great to meet the Duet3d team today at TCT show. Including Ian with his 5 colour mixing printer and Doug. The stand looked great, the scara drew attention even if it was by all accounts a bit fiddly to get working. Hope it has been, and will be a productive show for you.
We had a very interesting day, it was also great to meet (in person) my collaborators in the piezo project Idris and Mike.
If you can still attend tomorrow consider doing so, it's well worth the trip.

Likewise it was good to meet the team plus Simon and Ian.
Gleaned some useful info and a quick look at the Prusa I3 Mk3 that TBH I wasn't that impressed with given it's price tag

Are there any photos from the TCT Show?

Are there any photos from the TCT Show?
I took a few on my 'phone but they aren't very good. I'd guess that Tony and co will be doing something one their blog/web site. I'd suggest you keep an eye on social media as there were a lot of bloggers and vloggers there, including Thomas Sanladerer, Richard Horm (RichRap) etc. It'll probably be a few days before people get their editing done and upload their content. A quick google search this morning came up with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTxxd7o1Vvo. There is a very short clip of the Duet stand with David's Scara and my CoreXY at around 2 minutes in.

I have to ask, what multicolour filament are you using at the show? It looks awsome.

I have to ask, what multicolour filament are you using at the show? It looks awsome.Thanks. I was printing with FilaPrint Premium PLA in Black, White, Red, Yellow and Blue (it's a 5 colour Diamond hot end). The vase is nothing special, just a square bottom and round top using the "Hull" function in OpenScad. Sliced as a single colour object with 3 perimeters, 3 bottom layers and no infill. Then I wrote a little script to go through the gcode file and randomly change tool (colour) for every layer. The "Aria" dragon and the other vase that you might have seen at the side, were printed with FilaPrint transparent PETG but the 5 colour Diamond has "issues" with anything over 200 degC which makes things difficult, so I didn't want to try and reproduce them "live" at the show.
I was pretty chuffed when two people from E3D asked if they could have one of the "banded" vases so I printed two at the show for them. The one I took with me got donated to a couple from Switzerland who are going to put it in a museum of some sort. I don't know exactly what that is all about as their English wasn't terrible good and I have no Swiss. Anyway it was all good - just hope it didn't detract too much from the purpose of the stand, which was to demonstrate the capabilities of the Duet.

Looks like a really good example of what can be done with the Duet, anyway you should be pretty chuffed with all the interest. nice one.
On a side note, I live about 7 miles from Filaprint and the two orders I placed with them both got hand delivered. Very good service.

It was fantastic having you on the stand Ian, thank you so much for giving up a week of your time to come to the show and bring the monster! It was the star attraction on our stand and printed like a boss for 3 days solid.
