Nozzle wipe during print

Hope this helps

I suspect that you have the extruder speed, acceleration or jerk set too low in the M201 or M203 or M566 command. The code is asking it to retract 3.4mm of filament quite fast, changing from forward to reverse. Some other firmwares ignore extruder acceleration and jerk limits, but RRF obeys them.
As an alternative to using wipe while retracting, have you tried using pressure advance?

pressure advance is on, but problems occur when I disable wipe when the nozzle retracts and the extruder retracts it always leaves a spike of filament behind. any tips?
Also, where do I insert the Advance code?
At the moment I have put it in General preferences in the Config file and I'm already at 0,6 without noticing any improvements on the cube I just send you. -

Are you using z hop on retract as well?

For testing, you can also change it through the console during a print. But if you've gone as high as 0.6 then I doubt that it's going to cure your problem.

@phaedrux Yes I'm using Z-hop but it still gives me those filament points when retracting. vertical stringing XD.
@deckingman I just can't seem to fix the problem where my corners are too thick, (extruding too much in the corners). maybe the printer is slowing down too much of its own already? what is a normal setting for Dv for example? and what are normal acceleration settings? I just copied settings from my old motherboard for convenience but I think so things are a little off scale. XD let me post my config settings below so hopefully, some of you can see the problem in an eye blink,.

I'm already up to 1.0 advance and its getting better, no clue why I need so much advance with a Bowden tube but hey, it's working! turned off wipe because this made the prints melt due to the slow print speed.
Now I'm experimenting with faster retraction and faster Z hop to see if I can reduce the vertical stringing.

It could be that the pressure advance you were using was OK but you needed a greater retraction length.

@nelisgast Your accelerations and instantaneous speed changes are very low but I'm not familiar with your printer so don't know what it's capable of. Try upping instantaneous speed change for X and Y from 100 to 600 and the extruder from 200 to 1,000. That's still pretty conservative. For accelerations, try 1,000 instead of 200 for X and Y and double the extruder from 800 to 1600. That's still pretty conservative. You'll know if the machine isn't happy with those settings. Again, you can change them " on the fly" during a print. Oh, and start with pressure advance back to zero, otherwise it will mask any improvement you get. Suggest you play around with acceleration and instantaneous speed with no pressure advance to get the best corners you can, then try gradually feeding in pressure advance.
