      Hi everyone,

I currently own a full bear upgraded Prusa MK3 which runs the skelestruder. I do not have plans to build anything specific but got the printer rather to learn different skills and therefore have a lot of fun just tinkering with it.

My next project would be to implement a Duet 2 Wifi together with a touch screen display. Mainly for future expand-ability and getting to know different firmware.. I'm, sure there are other benefits.

This leads me to my question. Will it be really difficult to replace the Einsy on the MK3 with the Duet? Or is this something someone relatively inexperienced but willing to go through the documentation and tutorials, can achieve? I do not have any programming experience but editing configs and compiling firmware should be no problem. Currently I run Klipper for the MK3.

I'm sure there are some people out there that may have that setup already. Maybe there are known limitations?

Thanks to everyone for any input on the topic!

      Many thanks,
      Florian

        Hi Florian,
Other than the filament sensor, you should be able to use everything else.
Duet3d has their own spin on the filament sensor; it is not compatible with the PR one.

        Rgds.

P.S. Nice job on the robot arm.

          Absolutely.

This will give you an idea of the details you'll need to know to adapt it to the Duet.

Great, thanks for the feedback guys! Once I have sold the spare Einsy I have, I will order the Duet and start playing around with it.

I will make my way through the link provided, thanks @Phaedrux

If you can set up Klipper you will have no problem setting up a Duet.
I'm currently building a bear with all my spare parts (It's going to use Klipper while I save up for a new Duet)

@kingfisher Cool, thanks! Keep me updated on how you progress. Bear frame is really nice! I need to wait a bit longer to get the Duet now because I want to get it with the PanelDue and a filament sensor which makes it a bit more expensive in total.

I will post here once I have everything together.

Wondering how this all went? I am planning on using spare Bear frame and parts I have around to make a MK3S style setup with Duet 2 Wifi and PanelDue 7i. Not sure on extruder yet but wondering how yours came out.

Would you mind posting your motor settings once you are done? I'm still having trouble with configuring SpreadCycle on the Prusa MK2.
