Duet Wifi loses/ changes ip address after sitting

So I am very confused and frustrated, my duet keeps changing its server ip address when it sits for about a day. If I turn it off and back within a hour or so, the webcontrol can still function. Ideas?

Log in to the admin page of your router and configure it to assign a fixed IP address to the Duet WiFi.

Yup, this is your router assigning a new IP. You can also try printername.local assuming your router supports mDNS.

So I wanted to follow up with this thread. This seems to not work correctly. I just got home tonight and my duetwifi is still not showing up on the current ip address. I look further into my router app and see that the duet wifi is not even listed as a connection to my router. Is it possible the duet is forgetting the wifi password or name of my wifi?

If the Duet can't find your router it will revert to a access point mode and then show up as a seperate WiFi access point.

I've had this happen in a power outage where the Duet comes back up before the router does, but a power cycle of the Duet reconnects it to the router.

Hm.
Well I will keep checking on this. I just saved the ip again in my router. It is likely my router I assume since there are limited settings for the wifi on the duet. May try to upload new firmware after this print.

I believe it is. I am still confused though, to connect to it if I cannot connect I have to just pull the board out of my printer, plug it into pronterface and see the new IP address it assigns itself. I don't think it is a router frequency hopping issue.

If your router permits it, you can statically assign an IP address to a mac and that should do the trick.Great for security BTW If not, you may have options to use MAC to renew ip address to same device. shoot me make and model of router and i might be able to tell you something a little more specific.

Hi,
I have a Google On Hub (the TP Link version)
I have tried assigning an ip address to it multiple times with no success. I don't understand though I have to plug my duet into pronterface and see the duet has a different ip address. That is due to the router? I don't see how that is possible since I set an ip address to it.
