Also had an issue today. once per print.
Extruder 0 reported too much movement. Print paused.

    First time:
    Extruder 0: pos 153.28, ok, measured sens 24.51mm/rev min 85% max 118% over 272.5mm, errs: frame 7 parity 0 ovrun 0 pol 0 ovdue 0

    2nd time:
    Extruder 0: pos 92.81, ok, measured sens 22.91mm/rev min 77% max 120% over 1027.5mm, errs: frame 7 parity 0 ovrun 0 pol 0 ovdue 0

I'm using this in my config.g
    M591 D0 P3 C3 S1 R70:130 L24.8 E3.0

Ended up disabling monitoring and no issues.
    Firmware:
    Duet Web Control 2.0.0-RC6
    Duet Ethernet 1.02 or later + DueX5
    Firmware: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet 2.03 (2019-06-13b2)

Thank you. Is there a good way to track extruder filament usage? where do you even find it?

Is it possible to use this to keep track of how much filament is left or used?

The calibration data is just an averaging measurement over the duration of a print job, and gives you a rough frame for configuring the upper and lower ends of your filament sensor's sensitivity.
So nothing to store directly, just some input for you to perfect your printer's setup, especially the values for the M591 command in config.g 😉

    Got it. Thank you

Based on these my R should be 85:120 and L 25.00? is this valid calculation?

Yes to the L25 I would lake the R a wider window to start with maybe 70:130 or 60:140 until you have more data about any elasticity in your system and hos it responds to different filament types.

Got it. Will do. I only tried it with one filament so far.
calibration is done during every print? I noticed that after I powered down my railcore upon start M591 D0 showed no calibration data again. Is there a way to store this and use it ?

    Hello All

My filament monitor arrived and I got it installed today. @bmveee modified existing dyze mount to fit this one. I'm running Railcore II 300zl and installation was straight forward. I'm on 2.03 firmware. Got the cable crimped, disconnected my dyze sensor and connected the rotating magnet one.
Here is a picture of the mount and monitor mounted

    Here it is in use:

I followed the guide and started with the settings provided. Kicked of a test print and at the end of the print got the results

Going to test with more prints but so far noticed no issues. Also going to simulate jamming and filament run out tests.

  • question on mounting the new magnetic filament monitor

Hello - I just ordered the magnetic filament monitor https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet3dFilamentMonitor_RotatingMagnetVersion#Section_Before_the_Extruder

I have a stupid question about this part in the manual: it can mount directly onto the PTFE filament guide or bowden tube, held in place by the collets and collet clips.
Does the filament inside the monitor has to be exposed or can it read the filament inside the PTFE tube?
I'm using Railcore II 300ZL and i have a PTFE tube going from bondtech to the spool holder. So mounting this on PTFE tube would be nice. Here is a picture of my current setup:

yep thats me 🙂 My config-override.g file was time stamped when i did M500 but G10 L1 P0 was not saved into it. I tried it multiple times and ended up removing M501 from the config.g
