    • can-fd transmission possibilities research project...

      Hi everybody,

      wanted to ask for a researchproject, what are your minimum requirements for the (I hope I got it right) right-now used "can-fd" connections, regarding latency and protocol-standard (?):

      Asking to evaluate if transmissions like these would be possible:

      e.g. by light:
      https://www.peak-system.com/PCAN-LWL.214.0.html?&L=1
      or e.g. wireless:
      https://www.kvaser.com/product/kvaser-air-bridge-light-hs/

      Best regards

    • RE: 6HC PanelDue Ribbon-cable

      @dc42

      Thanks PanelDue now works! (Ups, so I got the theory upside down, looking on the paneldue-pcb with the pins pointing not towards you but out backwards, I think I got it all wrong from then on, anyway, as long as it works in reality…)

      @phaedrux
      Thanks so much! (Sorry for my lazyness…)

      Is this correct then:
      IMG_2082.JPG
      Wondering why only (beside the RED being 10 (?)) only the most outer 2 and not 4 are cut away then?

      Or is my interpretation the wrong way round?

      @dc42
      Thanks for the fast reply!
      Did I get it right or wrong with the little paper-schematic?

      Thanks! Cheers!

    • 6HC PanelDue Ribbon-cable

      Hi,
      I am currently trying to follow the guide for using the sd-card on the PanelDue with 6HC
      https://docs.duet3d.com/User_manual/Connecting_hardware/Display_PanelDue

      Is the Orientation
      A)
      IMG_2076.JPG
      or
      B)
      IMG_2077.JPG

      (Do not worry - board of course is not powered…)

      Thanks in advance! Cheers!

    • M906 multiple I or only one I for all motors?

      Hi,
      will this

      M906 X1000 Y1000 I55

      M906 Z1000:1000 I45;U1000

      M906 E1200 I25

      have the nominated steppers have an individual motor idle or will all just have the last I (in this case 25%) ?

      Thanks!

      (P.S. if individual motor idle is possible, could the writing be abbreviated somehow?)

    • RE: 6HC -> external stepper with CANopen instead of stp/dir/en ?

      @dc42
      Thanks so much!
      That clearified my decision which way to go down the road on the y I was contemplating... 🙂 So it will be 2pcs 1HC to try out 48Volt with lot´s of Amp 😉 Thanks!

    • 6HC -> external stepper with CANopen instead of stp/dir/en ?

      Hi,
      was wondering if external steppers that feature CANopen are compatible with the duet-environment, in my case a 6HC board, where it would be cheaper to get a big CANopen stepper (in my case tinkering with the idea to get one from nanotec https://en.nanotec.com/knowledge-base-article/canopen-motors-controllers) to save on the 1HC stp/dir/en-breakout-board...
      Any suggestions anyone?

    • Help: Humidity sensor triggers screen message above threshold

      Hi folks,
      long time not posted. Have a question that I hope might be interesting for other people as well:
      Currently at work we have printer with duet and we have the filament in plasticboxes with seals and drybags. I put a DHT22 in that plastic-box that is wired to that duet. So currently the printer-user has to check time to time in DWC in the "extra"-Tab for the sensors/temperatures the humidity if it is time to change the dry-bags because it is over a certain threshold...

      Has anybody any idea to help how to use the conditional g-code, so that it just uses that sensor value and if it is > x triggers a screen-message or something like that

      (yeah I have 1heater output left free and I know how to hook up that sensor to that output and make a red 24-V-led (that we have at work with resistor already in place for panel mounting) shine in the filament-box or something like that but I think screenmessage would be the best...?)

      Thanks for any hint...

    • RE: Proposed removal of DHT11 sensor support

      @dc42

      Thanks! Definetly I can cut the cable shorter! Will try that. Ah you are right we do not really need humidity, it was more a test to see how a heated chamber maybe could drive out relative humidity as well. Yeah so I guess on the long run it will be replaced by a "classic" temperature sensor. Albeit in the filament-chamber of course it will stay there to trigger for now an alarm to swap dry-bags and on the long run have an automated dehumidifier take care of that.
      Thanks!

    • RE: Proposed removal of DHT11 sensor support

      @dc42

      🙂 that is really cool! Thank you! I hope my post was not too "threatening", or was it "too good", I rather not know 🙂 We currently test at work printer with duet-mainboard (duet3mini) with heated chamber to around 70°C (goal is to reach around 95°C till end of the year (need to switch cables and or maybe motors for that) and you can already now see that the dht´s drift away from our other laboratory temperature probes, e.g. when our good calibrated voltcraft probe I installed right next to the dht inside says chamber has 70 dht tells me 65 and so forth, let´s see what even higher temperatures will show 🙂 Can report back if that stays same with 3.4 or higher, but I think the posted website shows already that dht´s can vary quite a bit +- so the easiest would be to switch to something that has a lower error (also the bosch seems to give rather "hot" values back). On the very long run (3.5/3.6 or even higher) it would be great to be able to calibrate temperature-probes, first maybe by a simple +- value and maybe later with a LUT but I remember I had this discussion already in the forum some time ago...
