@Garfield Makes sense.....I think I was on something magical when I thought about the stepper being 12v......Should have gotten more sleep. I forgot stuff I should have remembered since I have been away from 3d printing for awhile due to health issues. Thanks for explaining

@zapta This is the bowden version that does not have fan or hotend.

RE: Running the new E3d Hermera extruder on a 24v fed Duet Wifi
@Danal . thanks for the quick answer. So just plug the 12v Hermera in the 24v Duet wifi and since the stepper is rated for 1.33 amps, then set extruder current starting at .65 to .7 amps? Does that sound right?

Running the new E3d Hermera extruder on a 24v fed Duet Wifi
Hello all, I have a question so I don't harm my new Hermera extruder. I have the bowden version for my delta and it only comes with a 12 volt stepper motor. How can I run this with my version 1.0 Duet Wifi that is being fed 24 volts? Can I just run it at 24v (which I think would cause the stepper to heat up to much) or do I use a buck convertor and if I do, how would I wire that in? Thank you in advance for your expertise in answering this. I very much appreciate it.

RE: Update from 1.15 to 1.19 absolutely NO Web control Interface. Help!!!
the fix is already on the forum and buried. When you unzip the Duet Web Control file you need to have a blank www folder on your sd card and then unzip and place ONLY the contents of the unzipped file into the www folder. Do not place the unzipped file itself in the www folder…...just the contents. Hope this helps someone. The wiki needs changed to address this.

Update from 1.15 to 1.19 absolutely NO Web control Interface. Help!!!
Hello, I am new to DuetWifi and I had purchased the first release of the Duet Wifi…..#44 board. When I had finished building my Delta, I tried the board out and all worked with the preloaded V1.15 firmware. I then read all the update warnings and procedures and read all forums and proceeded to upgrade to 1.19. Followed special pre v1.19 procedure through YAT and all is well except that Web Interface control will not come up at all. I can ping the Duet no problem and below is an image of my terminal session, doing what David had advised to others so if someone can help me, PLEASE do. I have tried different versions.....1.18, 1.19, 1.20 all with exactly the same result.

RE: First Gen DuetWifi problems
I am starting by reading configuring RepRapFirmware and try to pick up what I can. Sorry for whining…feeling overwhelmed

RE: First Gen DuetWifi problems
ok…I am starting this board from ground up. Is there a manual somewhere telling me my first step and checks to see if things are ok, I guess I thought that the default config that came with this board would just need some tweaks to get it set for my components, but right off the bat Hot end failure and I do not understand how any PID adjustments will change that. It says it starts in Bang Bang which would still not cause it to error out as a failure just turning the board on would it? Is this board to advanced for a noob? This is my first delta and I have only dealt with Ramps and Arduino Mega before, but they just required a little adjustment in the config.g file. I'm sorry but it is frustrating when I have so much not working and not having a gameplan to fix it. I know this is candy for most of you guys but I am trying to decide what to start with and have a checklist to work on....Is there any type of first step, second step and so for a Delta printer with this Duet Wifi? I am more than eager to put in the time to learn and if anyone has a link to where I should start I would be very appreciative. I hope people understand what I am trying to say here....I feel like such a noob when I can't understand something that is second nature to others. Thanks in advance if you can help me, if not then thanks anyway for reading

RE: First Gen DuetWifi problems
Thank you so much everyone for the replies…..I figured I should upgrade to the latest fw, Am I mistaken? I just plugged this card in on a self built delta and after making dc42's ssr wiring change, heat bed is working correctly but the 24v hotend says in the web control that it is in error and check wiring.....which I have done. Could it be that the e3d v6 hotend needs a config.g file change that is calling up the wrong type of heater?

First Gen DuetWifi problems
Hello all, I received one of the first 50 Duet Wifis and it is fw level 15 and I wish to do a fw upgrade to 19.2. I am trying to follow the Wiki but at the very beginning it states to erase the /www folder and I do not have one. Also it states to create a folder with that name. Windows 10 folders cannot start with a "/" so this may be a stupid question, but I don't know so I am asking. Also is it alright to update from v15 to v19.2?

RE: Someone smarter than me…....Please Help
@dc42 I want to use it for safety reasons as Frank833 stated above. I ams using the Auber SSR and using the Bradford White Reset Thermal Switch to shut off the power to the Heat bed. Will this not work effectively?
-
RE: Someone smarter than me…....Please Help
@Frank833 I just ordered one and question, does it go inline with one of the cables going to heat bed or does it go across both wires that go to the heatbed ? Thanks
-
RE: Someone smarter than me…....Please Help
Thankyou Frank 833, I will look into that as that bed heater gets pretty hot…...pretty quick
-
RE: Someone smarter than me…....Please Help
Thanks all, @dc42, No I only had the printer on for less than a minute twice…...So I take it the way I have it explains why the heater is constantly on at power up?

Someone smarter than me…....Please Help
Hello All. I need HHEEELLLLPPP. Attached is my schematic for my new Delta Build. I am building it myself and it has taken the better part of 6 months. I just got to the point where I actually plugged it in for the first time. NO JOY!!!! I followed all Michael Hackneys and David Crocker's advice on how to do things (I thought) and this is what I get…..as soon as it is plugged in, all lights on Duet Wifi light up and the heat bed lights up and starts heating getting quite hot in about 90 seconds (which I am happy about) however, the heater should not be on (should it?) and the Auber SSR that Michael uses never lights up at all. Also I have a 7 inch PanelDue that only shows the backlight, absolutely no image. I am also using a 12v ps for the fans and hooked that up as David Crocker instructed, just to give you the whole picture.....So could you Gurus look at the schematic and verify that this is correct? Thank you so much for your help on this: Note....I did not try hooking it up through USB to load the configuration as I was lead to believe that it had a basic default config file in it from DC. Is the schematic wrong or can the fact that there is just the basic configuration file cause these issues? Thanks [Schematic] . I cant figure out how to add an attached Picture?

RE: 12v and 24v…Sorry for asking, I just don't want to do anything wrong
So I still plug the positive wire of each fan to their respective connector and I connect all the black wires of the fans to the negative on the 12v power supply?

RE: 12v and 24v…Sorry for asking, I just don't want to do anything wrong
I thank you once again for your help. It saves me alot of trouble.

RE: 12v and 24v…Sorry for asking, I just don't want to do anything wrong
Thank you so much David. I understand what you are saying. First of all, thank you soooo much for your contributions to the 3d world!!!!!!! Can you see anyway to drive the DuetWifi with the 24v Meanwell supply and yet use the 12v Meanwell for the fans with the fans still being controlled by your Duet so that they are not just always on? Or am I just going to have to switch everything to 24v? Thank you once again Sir.
