    • RE: G29 fails on Duet3 with toolboard

      Thanks DC42,

I upgraded to 3.2.0 an now the bltouch will deploy but not retract. M401 and 402 commands work after a full power reboot and before a G32 or G29. During a G32 it will work fine for 2 points, on the 3rd it did not retract. I did another power cycle tested with m401 and 402 at least 6 times cycles without issues. Did another G32 and this time it did not deploy on the 4th probing move. I already replaced the bltouch.

    • G29 fails on Duet3 with toolboard

      Hi,

I am scratching my head here. Mesh compensation keeps failing after about 6 or 7 probes on the bed. When it does I receive the following error:

      1/21/2021, 2:17:33 PM G29
Error: M280: Response timeout: CAN addr 20, req type 4012, RID=75
Error: M280: Response timeout: CAN addr 20, req type 4012, RID=77
Error: Failed to enable Z probe
1/21/2021, 2:17:32 PM Error: Response timeout: CAN addr 20, req type 6037, RID=76

      I am runnning on 3.2.0-rc2

Below is the M122 for the toolboard and main board. I cannot seem to find an answer online for this issue. Please help.

      @percar Borosilicate Glass in 800mm x 800mm would cost me about $600.

I decided to give a regular 1/4” glass plate a try at $55.

      Good results so far.

@mrehorstdmd I have the heater on order. 2700 watt 110v, will be on a dedicated circuit. I won't trip the breakers.

I have that covered. I need to figure out the most economical build plate for that size.

    • Need options for a large heated bed.

      Hi,

I am building a 850x850x900 printer with a floating gantry running on Duet of course. I'm mostly done and it prints already but I still need to add a large heated bed. I have a 800x800 110v heater on order but I have yet to find a building plate. Right now I'm test printing on a piece of formica and it is less then ideal.

My understanding is that a mic 6 aluminum plate it the best option but I'm assuming that this is also because most folks have moving beds and are trying to keep the weight down. My bed is stationary, weight is not an issue.

Is there a more economical way to get a flat bed if weight is not an issue?

@jdumoulin said in Not clear on properly configuring M591 on Duet3/Toolboard...:

I think it should work in 3.0-RC12 if you connect a switch-type endstop across the temp1 pins and specify port "xx.temp1" in the M574 command, where xx is the CAN address. Let me know if it doesn't work.

So far I have not been able to get it going. I am running Rc12 on the main board, RC11 on the tool board. I borrowed the Y end stop M574 command to see if I could see the trigger on webcontrol but no luck.

      Config was M574 Y1 S1 P"20.temp1"

Hi, I just ran into the same issue but I do monitor filament right at the hermera. I am working on a rather large printer (900x900x800) and a filament out sensor is crucial. I hope you would be so kind to answer the following three questions so that I can figure out how to move forward:
When do you think 3.02 beta will be released?
Where can I find information on how to connect an end stop to Temp1?
Will the attached end stop work with the new firmware? I do have some optical switches laying around if there is no other way.

      Thanks in advance.
