@Phaedrux @fcwilt Thank you both. This has been resolved. It was the "deploy" wire. Surprisingly it wasn't actually my wiring, although it may have been my abuse that caused it. The orange deploy wire somehow had a broken connection. Visually it looked fine but the multi-meter said otherwise. Cut soldered etc and it works.

the bltouch is only deploying when the board gets power. It goes through its test cycle without giving the blinking red light so I assume everything with the wiring is ok.

Well there are three wires on the connector that feeds power.

If the power and ground connections are good but the "deploy" connection is not the probe will self test on power up but will not deploy when commanded.

The behavior you described suggests the "deploy" wire is faulty.

I will try this again. That is actually what I had orgininally. I changed it trying to troubleshoot this issue.

I am using a Duet Maestro and a genuine Bltouch. I did not originally have any issues getting the Bltouch setup. Suddenly it stopped deploying. At first it would only fail to deploy when on the far side of the print area, it would go through the first couple probes of the mesh probing cycle, and fail to deploy when it got to the far side of the bed. I thought it was a mechanical issue. So I re-wired the connection and made sure to give it plenty of strain relief. Now the bltouch is only deploying when the board gets power. It goes through its test cycle without giving the blinking red light so I assume everything with the wiring is ok.

I am using a duet maestro and maestro expansion board for my IDEX printer. IDEX printer only requires 6 motors (X, Y, Z, U, E1, E2), but I am using mine to also set up bed leveling with multiple independent Z motors (Duet Instructions). My config for this machine is here: git repo.

I am getting short to ground errors on the two additional drivers (5 and 6). When I am not getting short to ground errors I get overheating warnings on the same drivers. The overheating I assume may be because I am only heating the under side of the Maestro and the expansion sits on the top. I have recently added an additional fan to hopefully deal with this. I've tried swapping motors around changing currents etc, even bought a whole new expansion board. These issues keep popping back up. Only one of the two drivers has an issue at a time, never both, but which one has the issue is inconsistent. After playing with settings and configuration for a while the issues somehow go away for a while but I can't seem to figure out why.

I am using Duet Web Control 3.1.1
Not sure which firmware version, hasn't been updated since I bought the board about a year ago.

I have been testing the driver with 3+ other motors and wiring that I know works. Same result, I have ordered another expansion board. Hopefully that will fix the issue.

^ This is no longer occurring, this was caused to a faulty stepper motor that I was using originally.

I think I may have fried the #5 driver on the Duet Maestro Addon board (I'm trying to setup IDEX). Originally I thought I fried drive #4 as well but that was because I was using a bad stepper motor.

I am trying to use driver #5 for my U axis. I just tested driving the U axis. It successfully moved 2mm on two separate commands, then stopped working. It doesn't move at all but makes noise as if it is trying to move.

I increased the length of my stepper motor's wires by soldering in a section of spare wire. I forgot to wrap the solder points in electrical tape. So when I bound them together with a wire wrap all the solder points were able to make contact with each other. I plugged this motor into my Duet Maestro.

I was troubleshooting with this motor plugged in for quite a while before I realized what I had done. Is it possible that I fried my stepper drivers? Now I can't seem to get anything to work and I get the (Error: Short to ground detected on drivers: X) error.
