    @mjhall29

I started all this by mistake, I was building a Drone, now 4 years, and 4 printers later the drone is still sat on the shelf waiting for the same part, but i don't have time to make it as i have 2 printers both need love and attention, plus i'v spent all my pocket money again.

Hmm that's what you get for clinking on links, I thought the post had been put up today but it was put up in August and someone commented today.
But that is not a problem any more I had a USB lead plugged in ( not normally there) the dog ran past when the door opened and took the lead and the usb socket with her. I don't suppose the usb is available on any of the pins any where? haven't had time to look yet.
so it looks like back to 8 bits for a while well i save my penny's.
      Thanks for the response.

    • Problems with firmware update.

      Hi Please help.
Printer control Duet wifi with Duex5. It was fine but i had started to get errors with my ir height sensor.
I only update firmware now and then so I know i have made an error.
Down loaded latest firmware, went to forum, as i don't like doing it from memory like the instructions in the back ground.
went to web interface and loaded just the DuetWiFiFirmware.bin not the DuetWiFiServer.bin. at this point i expected the control to ask if it should update, it didn't? so in my wisdom i rebooted the control (bad move i think) it didn't reboot.
So i moved on to Fallback procedure #1. followed the process for firmware put it back in control and sent it M115 and it reported back –----FIRMWARE_NAME: RepRapFirmware for Duet WiFi FIRMWARE_VERSION: 1.19+5 ELECTRONICS: Duet WiFi 1.0 + DueX5 FIRMWARE_DATE: 2017-08-30<lf>ok<lf>Error: Short-to-ground on drivers 3<lf>Error: Over temperature shutdown on drivers 3.--------
Firstly I expected Duet WiFi FIRMWARE_VERSION: 1.19+4 not +5 secondly i have an error??? I thought o well i am using pontiface i had never used it before so i ignored it.
I then went on to copy and install DuetWiFiServer.bin following Fallback procedure #1.
powered up the control connected with a terminal and went through the wifi connection routine. Sent M552 it reports its connected to the correct sidd and correct IP address, but its not? so i reboot it.
when i connect with a terminal it says its connected my routers says its not, and every time i connect to it from a terminal it gives me the error <lf>ok<lf>Error: Short-to-ground on drivers 3<lf>Error: Over temperature shutdown on drivers 3.
      can anyone help please.
Where do i start to look????

      Regards

    • RE: DueWifi lost all connection??

An update on the original question, I came home tonight and booted the duet control, for about 4 or 5 minuets it was the same as yesterday, so i went and made a cup of tea. when i got back the terminal i left running had stopped looping the class gcode spinning reports and just said wifi server started.
i started a web browser and connected.
I have updated the firmware and it is like nothing had ever been wrong ???
so now to put it back in the printer and try it.
      Thanks for the responses,
I would like to know what caused it but it seems to be working again now.
      regards

    • RE: DueWifi lost all connection??

      Thanks done that but,
i loaded the latest bin files into /sys and sent the relevant commands, Duet reported back it couldn't find files so i took the release number out of the names, it still reported the same but with the wififirmware file it took a long time to do it.

now when i send M552 S1 i still don't get the access point but the duet reports back this:-
      21:05:56.901 : Class GCodes spinning.
      21:05:56.901 : Class Platform spinning.
      21:05:56.901 : Class Webserver spinning.
      21:05:56.901 : Class Move spinning.
      21:05:56.904 : Class PrintMonitor spinning.
      21:05:56.904 : Class Heat spinning.
      21:05:59.561 : serial: N425 M10536
      21:06:02.661 : serial: N426 M105
      39
      21:06:22.906 : Class Network spinning.

i have never watched it before so dont know if this is correct or not?
would it be worth trying to make another SD card??

      regards

    • RE: DueWifi lost all connection??

I cant see the access point in my network list, so i take it that it is not reverting to access point mode.
I was wondering if there is anything i can do from the SD card?
I am very concerned as i cant connect via USB. when i plug it in the PC dose not recognise anything is plugged in but the red LED on the Duet comes on indicating it is plugged in.
I have tried 3 laptops one running windows and two running Linux mint, one of these has been plugged in and successfully used in the past during initial setup.

    • DueWifi lost all connection??

      Help!!
I was printing this afternoon nothing special a box i have printed before (only one extruder in use),
I went to the printer just before it was due to finish, it had stopped 17 layers from the end.
I went to the PC that had the webpage on and it said it was disconnected (nothing unusual), as normal did a refresh still would not connect.
I went to my paneldue and moved the head out of the way turned off the heaters and switched off the control.
Turned it back on homed the 3 axis from the paneldue and tried to reconnect from the PC, no confection.
Reset my wifi restarted, no connection.
Plugged in the usb no connection, but i could manually move the printer axis.
Did a factory reset from the paneldue. still no USB connection.
So now i cant move the Axis as i reset it all, and i cant communicate with it in any way.
Where do i go from here????
      please help.

Setup duetwifi, duex5, paneldue, X & Y hall effect end stops, IR height sensor Z axis, 3 extruders, P100 sensors on hotends, 240V heatbed.

      Regards
      Martin

      Thank you,

Perhaps i need some new glasses.
Sorry for wasting your time due to either bad eyesight or just stupidity.

    • RE: PT100s and thermistors

if i put a tester on either side of the plug going to the thermistor at room temperature i get 98K, My config.g is below everything else seems to work the only thing i haven't tried yet are the 3 extruders but i cant see why these should be a problem as XY&Z work ( i haven't set the steps per mm on the extruders yet but is somewhere about right):-

    • PT100s and thermistors

      Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if I could get some help.
I am updating my control to use a Diamond mixing head, I have added a duex5.
I did have a few problems when I updated the firmware but have solved them all except one.
At the same time as adding the duex5 I added the PT100 controller and fitted the head with a PT100 sensor fitted to channel 201,
I intended to continue to use the thermistor that I had fitted to the heatbed.
Since fitting the PT100 I cant read the HB thermistor?
I reassigned it to the thermistor that would have been used for hotend 1 and still get no reading?
I take it I can use PT100s and thermistors together, so can any one tell me what I have done wrong.

      Thanks in advance
      Martin
