    • RE: Problems with drivers and PWM

Just wanted to follow up here... Regarding the extruder, it turned out that I was relying on wire colors to match up the connections. [insert face palm here]

Using the "Connecting stepper motors" section from this page gave me the answer and I feel pretty dumb for not referencing it sooner. https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Choosing_and_connecting_stepper_motors

@dc42 Ah! - will give that a try... And I probably should have started a new topic with my last post - while waiting for response to my original, I was working out settings for a "normal" 24v radial and 3010 hot end fan (E3d V6). I've had this board for a couple years, but it's been off for the last 6 months. I'm starting to remember why I had the HE fan on an always on port and the part fan on Fan 1. I seem to recall that of the PWM locations, only the middle (Fan 1) was working. I have some questions on how to test for that, but will start another thread...

For Google's sake, I'm going to put my heater and fan settings here (the terminal block for E0 is wicked loose so I moved it to E1):

    • RE: Controlling a brushless part fan?

So after a few more tests, I’m discovering that my two always on fans work, but I’ve only got one working PWM fan. I’ve tested the continuity ban the jumper pin and V at the mains and I get it. I tested the three little mosfets and i think that’s where the problems are…

I may try to trouble shoot some more or maybe kick for a new new board… I welcome any additional thought on the matter, Thanks!

    • Controlling a brushless part fan?

I've got a nice 24v brushless 5015radial fan that puts out a very quiet 6cfm. The problem is it doesn't like to be PWM controlled. Anything under 100% and it stops spinning. It does a fine job when I connect it to my bench power and adjust the voltage up and down. I was wondering if there is anywhere I can connect on a Duet 2 Wifi to control the fan using voltage? If not the Duet 2, how about the Duet 3 mini? Alternate question - would adjusting the frequency (currently 500) make a difference?

      Thanks for any help!

    • Problems with drivers and PWM

I feel like I’m having “cascading failures“... I recently got around to installing the Hemera I bought a couple months ago. Testing the extruder, all I get is a loud buzzing noise. Then if I wait a few minutes, I get another buzzing (slightly higher pitch) and then a warning that driver temp is getting high. I tried moving from driver 3 to driver 4- same results. I’ve replaced the cable, double checked pin out, reversed direction in config.g, and tested with a know good stepper - all with the same results.
      !
The other issue I noticed is that only PWM 1 is controllable. PWM 0 and 2 both read 24V but fans don’t turn and shutting them down with gcode has no effect.

      Looking for any ideas... thanks!

@dc42 It is not in an enclosure and the one I designed for it deliberately held the bezel off the glass. Not sure what you mean about the 4 pins for the membrane. You can see images of my PanelDue here: link text

    • RE: PanelDue 5i V1.0 - White screen of death?

      @dc42 Okay... Here's the latest:

      • Using the provided firmware, flashing and pressing reset button loads calibration but touches do not register.
      • Cycling USB power returns to calibration, however middle-top dot does not register. However if I touch along the right edge in the upper right quadrant, the dot will move the middle-right.
      • Middle-right does not register a touch, however touching near but no at the bottom edge of the lower right quadrant, just right of center will move the middle-right dot to middle-bottom position.
      • Middle-bottom does not recognize a touch anywhere on the screen.

Flashing normal firmware after still skips calibration (as expected since this calibration did not complete). Also noting that touches also do not register until power is cycled with normal firmware as well.
