@droftarts Thanks for your reply. So I added the M453 Command in the config.g in the General section and then tried to run a .nc file from Carbide Create. Initially it just said finished and did nothing. I deleted the Spindle M Command as I control the spindle manually. it then ran but only the commands beginning in G0 or G1 ran which was the first move onto the piece and then all of the z moves. The X and Y moves never happened. No errors it just ignored them as they do not have a G0 or G1. According to the Document that you linked it should handle this in CNC mode.

"In CNC mode, if a line of GCode does not begin with G or M (after skipping N and the line number, if present) but the previous command was G0 or G1, then the line is taken to be another G0 or G1 command."

Is it possible that I am not in CNC mode? Should the DWC have looked different?

I have attached the .nc file I ran and my config.g. Can you take a look and offer some advice? Thanks in advance.

So I built my own machine that was going to be a multifunction machine but I am really thinking it is going to be a CNC machine. I have the duet wifi 2 running I believe 3.3. Right now I am controlling spindle start and stop and speed manually. The axes are run with nema 23 motors driven by TB6600 external drivers.
I am just a little overwhelmed as to how to configure purely for CNC. I see the M453 to set CNC mode. What does this do. It looks like it just allows for spindle control. Does it change the way Gcode is handled.
I have had some success with doing some projects with the code generated from Easel and the Basic Gcode post processor. But I tried Carbide Create and the code it generated did not have the G1 in front of each controlled move so it wouldn't run. Is their a post processor that works with Carbide Creator.
I saw some mention of a post processor for fusion 360. Does the RepRap firmware require the G1 on every line even in CNC mode?
Lastly I saw a mention of a software version that has a DWC for CNC mode. Does this change occur if you put the M453 in the config?

I know this is a little all over the place. Is there a place to start for someone trying to get started in CNC with the Duet?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    • Using external drivers with Microstepping

So I am building a larger format printer using Nema23 motors and TB6600 drivers using the expansion board. I am in the process of configuring and I have a question? The TB6600 drivers are set up with Microstepping but I noticed in the Config.g file there is a a line with an M350 command to configure Microstepping. I assume this is for the on board X,Y, and Z drivers. Because I am remapping to E2, E3, and E4 should I comment the M350 line out?

@tomartig I fixed it!. I was reviewing the post from ddxdesign and it sounded a little familiar. I was getting some read errors from the SD card when I selected it on the Panel. I reseated the SD card and that cleared up but did not resolve my issue. In that post he mentioned some gz files. I checked my www folder and saw no .gz files. So just on a hunch I backed up my SD card and the deleted everything from the www folder. I then downloaded the DuetWebControl 1.22.6 zip file from the assests of the 2.03 release. I noticed the .gz files were there. I replaced the whole www folder with the zip file contents and it worked.

What firmware version am I able to update too on this vintage board? Also would I be able to skip updates and just jump to the one I needed? What would be the benefit of upgrading?

Thanks in advance for the help.

    • Cant get Duet Web Control to say Connected

So a couple of years ago I started a project to build a 3D printer. I bought a Duet2 Wifi and and PanelDue 7. On the bench I got the Wifi connected and had the DWC working. I started to mount stuff in a panel but then life happened and I have not touched it in over an year and a half. So today I powered the Duet up and the software comes up on the PanelDue. I used the Panel Console and set up the Wifi and it worked. However when I go to my browser and enter the IP address the main DWC page comes up but unlike in the videos on the top bar the button does not change to Disconnect. It says connect and there is a message on the right that says disconnected. I try to hit the connect button but nothing happens. None of the links on the page work. I saw some references to updating the DWC but this all worked when I last touched it.

I am running Firmware version 2.03 and I have done nothing to the Config.g file as yet. Right now after I reset I am having to go the the panel console and enter M552 S1 to get the Wifi back up because I have not added the line to config.g yet.

Any ideas? or do you need any additional information from me?
