It's not available yet. We are currently finalising the design. My best guess is that we will ship the first ones in February next year.

            Hi

            thx for the quick reply.
Looking forward to implement it 🙂
Just a quick question. Why are you planing a 4 wire CAN and additional 2 power wires for this board?
Couldn't it be done with just 4 wires?
Or is it for safety reasons to have the CAN controller powered independently like for valves?

@Hornetrider, we need to use 4 CAN wires so that you can daisy-chain tool boards. A board at the end of the CAN bus would only need 2 wires and a termination resistor.

Power has to be provided separately from CAN.

When will it be possible to order a tool board? price?

Would be perfect for my printer because I have the Duet 3 + Pi in the lower part of the printer

On a sidetrack, nice to see a Pi display with DWC. That is what I am doing as well.

                      Any news?
I`ll have to decide if I should start wireing the extruder/hotend, or wait for the Tool Board

I suggest you wait for the Tool Board. They are currently going through testing and we will announce their availability any day now.

btw Hemeras are in short supply now, due to the issues in China.

ok, I`ll wait (my _Hemera is already installed 🙂 )

I`ll spend the time while waiting for the tool board to learn more about the rrf 3 firmware settings and get all my other functions correct

This is my first duet based printer project (RADDS/Repetier on my other projects) so a lot to learn - but I love that it is possible to edit the config files from the web server pages.. 🙂

If possible? you can add me to a pre order list for the Tool Board 🙂

And if you have questions about how a given line really works, issue that command from the web console. They take effect in real time.

Miss one limit switch input - on many RailCore printers there is a limit switch (Y axis) installed together with the extruder..

You could use the filament monitor input or the Z probe input for that, unless you already need both. Possibly also the second thermistor input.

                                  Hi Guys

                                  @dc42

I am eagerly awaiting for the tool board to be released. In the mean time.

I see the tool board is supporting 12v fans, for those of us who exclusively run everything at 24v, will the tool board be able accept 24v fans to save mixing and matching fan voltages ?

The tool board supports 12V fans only. Note, 24V fans with PWM and tacho support are not generally available.

Is it possible to get a 3d model? I want to design a housing for it for my printer - if not, the height of the largest component on the board?

Am I going to get heat problems if i install it in a small enclosure?

No 3D model yet, but the dimensions are at https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet_3_Tool_Board. The highest components are the terminal blocks, which are just under 9mm high. When the JST VH power lead is connected, the top of the latch is about 10mm above the top surface of the PCB.

The PCB is 1.6mm thick and you should allow 3mm below it to clear the soldered joints.
